H4 La Residence Paulista

A bad hotel that kept getting things wrong. Check-in set the tone. The receptionist answered the desk phone several times while processing us, and we were never told the essentials, inc. breakfast hours, pool hours, etc. Very little English was spoken throughout our stay, which made every small issue hard to resolve. To be fair, some of the reception staff were genuinely kind, but far too many people simply didn’t seem to care whatsoever. The biggest problem was MOLD. There was a lot of black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The maintenance staff that came up actually suggested painting over it. After we developed respiratory issues, we switched rooms, only to find more black mold in the bathroom grout of the new room, with the rest seemingly painted over. The sneezing and breathing problems continued. Other alarming issues: - The fire alarm went off around 11:30pm on 27/07. We evacuated down the emergency stairs and no one told us anything. A staff member in a suit didn’t speak English and just said “tá bom”, no reassurance, no apology. The alarm went off again at 9:00 the next morning... - On 28/07 around 11:29, someone knocked and opened our door with a keycard within about five seconds, while we were calling out “no, no, no.” The person didn’t speak English. Their explanation was “it’s policy, I’m here for the mini bar.” They apologized, but entering an occupied room seconds after being refused is genuinely alarming. - Windows didn’t seem properly sealed; cold air came through even when shut. - Wifi was very poor. A digital newspaper and weather app wouldn’t even load. - Last but not least, the pool was dirty. Breakfast was a low point. It is run as an apparently separate operation with no communication with reception. The food selection was very limited and substandard. Milk wasn't available (unless you're a fan of cereals with warm milk), water was from the tap (very bad taste). Overall, very underwhelming and disappointing.

I stayed 2 days apart in the hotel, very good breakfast and location, I asked for early check-in and the staff granted me a room at 12 pm, also provided me with power adapter. There's a bit difficulty communicating with the staff, some of them don't speak English, that good so you have to be aware of that..

The location is perfect, safe, and close to the metro station. The room was very large and had a well-equipped kitchen. The staff was very friendly and attentive, even when I arrived at midnight. I was very satisfied with my stay.

Itvis a bit old. . But super clean and comfy. I didn't loke the fact that it didn't have a tv set in the bedroom. I stayes in a suite, but only two armchairs in the living room to watch tv. I suggest they put a sofa there. Ar conditoner only in the bedroom. One night was a bit cold and I carried the comforter to living room and wrapped it around me. I felt ok, really.

The breakfast was fabulous. I was a pescatarian during my travels and found a lot of options to eat. I also dined at the Jau Restaurant for dinner on few nights when I was too tired to eat outside but wanted to watch FIFA World Cup matches. Had the risotto & pizza. I love the bed. I had good sleep. The toilet in my room has bidet. Appreciate it. I also liked that there was changing room with shower. I took a shower before heading to the airport. I wish there was a kettle in the room so I could drink hot water & tea.

Wifi does not work very well, and we had minor issues with access cards.

Great condominium and location. The furniture is very basic in the living room, 2 single couches in front of a tv, you can't even sit together.

The internet never worked in my room. The technical staff said that their system needed to be upgraded and did not work in all of the rooms. The hotel includes breakfast, but my booking did not include breakfast, probably an issue with Booking

No iron for clothes

Everything was great overall. The location is excellent, with many small bars and restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood felt safe. It was very easy to get around, especially to major landmarks by taxi. Food options were also convenient and accessible. What I appreciated the most was the responsiveness of the staff — I had a small issue with the room, and the reception handled it immediately and efficiently. It would be great to have more staff who speak English, and the mattresses could be more comfortable. Breakfast can be more diversified every day. One lady from the staff at the breakfast was mean.

Nothing

The room was clean and comfortable with strong air conditioning, a laptop-sized safe, and plenty of storage space. The facilities were good overall, especially the outdoor pool area which was a nice size with lounge chairs, and the gym was better than some of the other hotels I stayed in. The location was also convenient, just a couple of streets from Avenida Paulista with restaurants and attractions nearby. The check-in process was very strict, so even though I arrived early I had to wait until the official check-in time. Breakfast was fairly limited for my preferences, with many pork and pastry options, and the restaurant pizza I ordered was only average. The TV was a smart TV, but streaming services like YouTube were not available.
