Residenza D'epoca 1861 is a fine and friendly hotel superbly positioned at the edge of the beach in Santa Maria di Castellabate. Good swimming beaches are a few moments walk. Balconies overlook the sea for wonderful sunsets. Our room was large and airy. The "expanded continental" breakfast was tasty and ample. The town's many shops and restaurants are very easy strolling distance. It is an easy drive to the incredible Greek ruins at Paestum.

The staff were the highlight of our stay. Excellent breakfast, generous with their assistance with our luggage, room services, and local information, all with a fantastic ocean view. The Residenza was like having our own private palazzo on the sea for 3 nights. The bed could be a bit newer and the linens softer. Adding screens would allow terrace doors to remain open without the mosquitos attacking. Some may object to the music from the nearby bar, but with a good pair of noise-canceling headphones our sleeping wasn’t bothered.

Very helpful & friendly staff! We enjoyed a Beautiful Spacious room that overlooked the Sea. Great location with Easy walking access to cafes, restaurants & local lively life. Parking was available in a lot a few minutes away from the hotel.

Location is amazing. Room size is big, but the space is not very wisely used. A bed in the middle of the room . The location tries to be fancy at expence of comfort. Ok palce to stay 1 night if you visit for expample it's Michelin star Osteria. Balkony was nice, AC great, bathroom ok size and breakfast was ok. The Osteria experience was positive. Avoid weekends, the rooms are really noisy from the next-door bar. Wi-fi is worst I have met in recent years, which is really bad thing because there is actually no cell reception in the building. Staff was not very attentative. We had to ask for wi-fi password, breakfast times and parking - things that normally are communicaed automatically. There is a really minibar in the room - super small fridge. There is no shade in the balcony so it is impossible to use during afternoons ( specially during summer months )

The family suite was spacious and comfortable. The view on the sea magnificent. Breakfast was very nice. Mid of October the place was not very busy. The music from the neighbouring cafe was loud on the weekend evenings, but the sound protection of the windows was good. And in the night we could open the windows and listen to the sound of the sea.

Fantastic location and brilliant staff. The sundowners on the terrace were real highlights! Also the food in the bistro was amazing. Super generous breakfast with a wide range of quality products. The shower pressure and tempurture in the attic room was hit and miss. Plus. note to self... Do not book the attic room if your partner is tall : ).
