This hotel is an absolute gem. Really beautiful and comfortable, lovely rooms, beautifully appointed reception area/lobby. Bedroom was modern, well maintained and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. Staff were so polite. I couldn't fault anything, but i didn't try the restaurant. Hotel is good value for a more upbrand experience. The location is Chinatown, which is some distance from the main centre of LA, so it's best if you have a car. Parking in hotel is $20 a day. It is a pleasant, quiet, location and the area feels very safe. Lots of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants nearby if you like that kind of food. I am very fussy about hotels and won't hesitate to criticise. Honestly, i couldn't find anything to crticise here. Originally I booked the Marriott SpringHill Suites (Manhattan Beach area) and after spending a night there i was so disappointed (dirty yucky place) that i changed to the Sheraton San Gabriel. The difference was like chalk and cheese.

Great hotel. We used to stay in Hilton but want to try this newer hotel. Convenient location. Hawaii supermarket is on the other side of the street. Location is safe. Small pool and nice gym though. The only issue that I have is the weak phone signal inside the hotel. Parking is $20 per day, which is double the price of Hilton. We have a pleasant experience,

I recently lost my home in a fire—an unexpected and devastating event completely beyond my control. During one of the most difficult times of my life, I reached out hoping the hotel would make an exception or offer some flexibility. Unfortunately, the manager showed no empathy and insisted on charging me the full amount. Customer service is about more than enforcing policies—it’s about treating people with kindness when they are going through unimaginable hardship. I left this experience feeling disappointed and unsupported. Because of how this situation was handled, I will not be booking another stay at this Sheraton property, and I cannot recommend it to others. I hope the hotel reconsiders how it handles guests facing genuine emergencies in the future.
