NOTHING! The police that came up the stairs as they were attempting to check us in. The community bathrooms. The false advertisement on the rooms

A cheap room near the Moscone convention center, that's it. You probably won't catch a disease, and you probably won't be assaulted. The locals keep to themselves and are pretty harmless. Though it's a rough neighborhood to be sure! This is a rough neighborhood. Lots of poverty, lots of addiction and illness. The hotel is quite worn from heavy use/abuse. It does not meet the typical standards of cleanliness for a hotel. And don't expect much in the way of basic amenities. Bring a towel, bring earplugs, and bring sheets if you can.

I'm not sure how they can make this clear, but this is located in an incredibly dangerous area called the tenderloin. Our Uber driver told us twice he didn't think we should stay there, but I had already made the booking. We landed at the front door to a very scary street with many people yelling and staring at us. We immediately were incredibly uncomfortable, we then buzzed the gate to get into this building, which we noticed had the locks broken over 3 times & re-locked. As we walked up the stairs there was garbage and we were immediately alerted by a man screaming at the staff. The general vibe was that it could get violent. The staff apologized and were kind, they told us they would put us in an apartment for our saftey. So they took us down to a seperate part of the building back on the street, as the worker unlocked yet another gate another random person started trying to push into the area, saying "what's in here" the staff member just had to close the door on him as again it was just unsafe. We come into a dark room and he can't find the light, you can hear yelling right outside and the drug issues are incredibly prevalent. He brings us into a room that is not clean, so then he has to run back upstairs to grab a different key. As we look around this room there is an intense smell of urine, stains all over the couches / furniture / floor. At this point we were terrified and did not feel safe nor comfortable. He cones back down and we tell him we are just going to stay somewhere else, but he insists that it will be okay we just need to stay in our room. He brings us across the hallway to the second apartment. We get in to the same pee smell, there are multiple huge puddles from an active leak on the floor. Stains on the furniture. Then we found a cockroach. This was overall a crazy experience. We felt unsafe to even exit and get to our Uber.

The Price. The room is very dirty, full of dust, there was shit on the bathroom floor, the outside of the hotel is full of drugged and homeless people, they play loud music and sing all night long, it was impossible to sleep, there was a shooting near the hotel and the person guarding the hotel entrance is a drug addict.

On arrival there were druggies sitting on floor outside smoking crack pipes we went upstairs to the dirty scruffy reception which had metal mesh on it to protect the staff …. I went to our room and it was awful not as the photos online and the cleaners were in the room next door cleaning human excrement off the floor 😳 went back to reception and the manager told us he would refund our money to hotels.com but as yet nothing after over a week and two emails to him …… this hotel is a drug hostel and should not be on Hotels.com please issue a full refund urgrntly
