My husband and I stayed here for two nights as a "base" for Salerno, Pompeii, and Mount Vesuvius. City center was about 20 minutes away and getting to Pompeii/Vesuvius was easy using the highway. There is an incredible amount of space inside and outside. When you arrive there is a gate. Parking is along the building inside the gate. The terrace is amazing - views of Salerno and the sea. We enjoyed having our dinner outside both evenings to enjoy the sunset. The sleeping area is spacious and the bed comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out. There is a couch and television offering more room. Tile floors throughout. A couple steps up is another futon couch and a second doorway leading out to the terrace. Down a long hallway is the kitchen (very, very large) with a kitchen table and chairs as well as a bathroom. The shower is giant. The owner brought us breakfast each morning with various kinds of delicious items - coffee, juice, baked goods, yogurts. It was very nice. The property was clean and we felt safe "up in the hills." The outdoor space included a bistro table and chairs, a secondary set of chairs, and a hammock. The terrace wrapped around the building. As far as I know we were the only ones there so we had the place to ourselves. The view was fabulous. We highly recommend this property. A couple of the photos show your view from the terrace. Nothing to mention.

Verde Smeraldo ( Emerald Green) has been one of our favourite stays. It has a 70’s vibe but in a very classy way. The home is spacious & comfortable. The manicured grounds reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour with spectacular views. Perched above the village with the sea to one side, mountains & songbirds, spectacular sunsets and the magical twinkling lights of the village below by night are all within your view. It’s a very therapeutic & peaceful environment with hosts, Lucia & Mimmo to match! Grazie… ci è piaciuto tantissimo!

The view, fresh air and piece of mind. The hosts are very friendly and check in was easy. Breakfast was served with fresh fruit, eggs and delicious cheese. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom offered all the room you could ever want. It's a little too isolated for my taste. The television had limited channels and it wasn't possible to stream using the Internet.

The villa has a very amazing view of the city of Salerno. This villa is not in very good condition, but this gives it its charm. This does not affect the quality of life. A car is essential for getting around

Wonderful property quiet, spacious in garden with beautiful view on sea, mountain and city.

Architecture and location Difficult shower facility for elderly people

The host Patrizia and her husband were very friendly and helpful, if there were any issues regarding maintenance they got onto it quickly. Breakfast was excellent according to our likes. The host also went out of her way to wash some clothes of ours before we left. The view is beautiful, we had breakfast on the balcony every morning. I would highly recommend booking villa Smeralda if your in Salerno.

We enjoyed being able to be outside of the city and the property was in a great location. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. They helped us make reservations and recommendations. They also provided us a very nice breakfast before we departed.

Lucia and Mimmo are amazing hosts and their beautiful villa offers spectacular views over the sea and the city of Salerno. This accommodation is a 100% recommendation!

A memorable location. Stunning views and lovely to have access to a private kitchen. Hosts were professional but discreet. A real 60s retro Holywood vibe in this hilltop mansion. A car is essential

Great place, wonderful house and very nice owners

Verde Smeraldo is located on top of a hill overlooking Salerno. The view is amazing. It is a few kilometres from the centre, so it is much quieter - exactly what we were looking for. We had a car so it was easy to drive to town - however there is a bus station nearby. The hosts were extremely friendly. We asked for a barbeque and they bought a Weber for us the following day. The breakfast was also very good. The wine glasses need to be replaced.

The hosts were great, the view was panoramic, the apartment was large and comfortable. There was no wardrobe to hang clothes. Minor but it would be nice to add it.

Peaceful and serine up in the mountains, very "70's esque" in all the right ways. Beautifully done and a lovely couple that own it. You do need a car though as it is right out the way. Only down side was that you needed a car to get anyway, part and parcel the booking itself though so not necessarily a down side but more a heads up for people who are looking to book here.

The hosts are super friendly and welcoming. The property is full of character and quite spacious, with amazing views to the city of Salerno, the mountains and the sea. All surrounded by nature. The breakfast was amazing and prepared by the hosts themselves who were very accommodating. We've only stayed one night but everything went well.

Everything was extremely good. I would like to indicate the extremely good attitude of the owners: Napoleone and Lucia. They were waiting for us at the accommodation and help us in all our stay in Salerno. The location was not in downtown (that's why I gave them not a maximum score) but it was in the high of a hill with a view of the city underneath, which was at the same time a very especial spot. In addition, Napoleone took us to downtown and gave good tips to rent a car, which we required, as well as gave us very precise indication on the bus line 15 to return by bus to the accommodation (from downtown if required). Napoleone and Lucia suggest to provide a sort of lunch/dinner when we returned of our excursion to Positano and Amalfi , because we left the accommodation on the first day, very early. I would also like to mention the dimensions of the accommodation: It was really higher than expected! None

The apartment is one of several in an extremely unique architectural house with many highest quality features from a bygone era. One has to appreciate uniqueness to enjoy the apartment and do not expect a modern day Hilton. Lucia (sp) and Memme (sp) were gracious hosts and Lucia served a wonderful breakfast to our dining area (overlooking the valley with views of the ocean from a gigantic picture window). The house is located up the hill from Salerno. We highly recommend Verde Smeraldo. It was a most enjoyable experience.
