Hotel Villa Merope

The only minus is the WiFi strength, my room had a very poor connection

Location is good, everything else is very bad Very old hotel. Crazy bad smell even in hall. Very small room. Leaking shower. Expensive parking.

Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Safe in the room was broken.

Tha staff was very nice, and the check-in was fast At night the electricity was out for almost every hour so we had to fix it. Also you can hear everything through the walls and the doors, this was a bit annoying

We ended up not spending the night at the hotel because of the railway strike - but we were welcomed very warmly, were given bikes to explore the area in the few hours that we had before continuing our travels - thank you so much!!!

Our first room had mold on the ceiling, however, the General Manager moved us to a different room, she was awesome

Good location, close to a parking lot that is free in the winter. Very old rooms and facilities, it was not very clean, there was a chewing gum on the bed frame covered by some plastic tape. It was hard to get the hot water working in the bathroom. The breakfast was not very tasty.

Good hotel with excellent price/quality ratio. The staff is wonderful. Great location, delicious breakfast. You can store your luggage until departure. No complaints.

We chose this hotel since it offered breakfast and it was okay. Sometimes the bread was stale and some warm plates were cold, but otherwise, you had a couple of basic options. The room is just like in the photos and spacious enough for a couple. The cleanliness was on top, the cleaner came daily to change our sheets and towels (if needed). The location was 2 minutes to the sea and by e-bike/scooter around 8-10 minutes to the old centre. Our neighbours were quite loud, especially during quiet hours. We did not talk to the staff since most of the time no one was there and the night-shift receptionist only knew Italian.

The room was not as expected. It was mentioned that there should have been a balcony, however, there wasn’t. When we asked on the reception and showed the description of our room booked, the receptionist just told us that on the Booking it’s a general description and there shouldn’t be a balcony in this type of the room. The photos of the room are much better than reality.

Excellent location at 2 mins from the sea. Kind staff. Clean rooms Room keys are to be hung on a board in the lobby of Hotel Villa Merope without supervision. You cannot take them with you when you go out of the hotel. Receptionists stay at the main hotel (Hotel Sorriso) across the street. They told us that at night there would be a receptionist at Villa Merope for security reasons, but that was not the case. Thus the keys were unattended. Bathroom is too small. No shower screen, but rather a central curtain, thus when you shower water spills all over the bathroom.
