Stayed at Downen House Bed and Breakfast last night. Found a little Nirvana in the ‘blo! Who would have thunk it. This B&B is meticulously cared for. Clean as a whistle. Everything is thoughtfully curated and intentional, throughout. My bed was like sleeping on a cloud. High threadcount linens. High quality mattress. Ever so comfortable. Loved every moment. DEFINITELY going to stay again. Tammy and Scott are outstanding hosts. They could not have been more accommodating. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Tammy’s company, divine. Zero complaints.

The host/ess are exceptionally generous and kind people. The house has a fascinating history and is absolutely beautiful, Breakfast was delicious and the conversation with our hosts and other guests was delightful. Scott went all out assisting us with a flat tire on our rental car and Tammy even drove us to our dinner reservation on the River Walk since our car was not yet fixed. Nothing!

We were a little concerned about parking at first as the only parking is on the street. We had some cargo that made us worry about leaving the car on the street, but there didn’t seem to be issues with other cars parked up & down the street (there were many). It turned out to be fine. If you’re a person who complains about hotels being “old & needs an update,” you probably won’t like this place. But if you enjoy the beauty & history of amazing places, beautiful restoration, and interesting stories, then you will love this little hidden gem!! While we were not overly impressed with the city of Pueblo as a whole, we were very impressed with this place and these people. We definitely intend to go back!!!!

We really enjoyed the lovely porch and had the best relaxing evening. We woke up to a delicious breakfast and enjoyed the company of our hosts and other guests. We truly enjoyed our time and will be booking again when we are in the area!! 😊

Very friendly staff - beautiful B&B.

The hosts were very friendly and offered lots of amenities. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast. Because it is an old building, the air conditioning is retrofitted and fairly loud. It did take a little getting used to.

Downen House is a historic mansion with 21st-century technology provided. I stayed in the Colorado Suite which was at the top of the house. What a treat! I had a living room, a reading nook, a bedroom, and a bathroom. It was very roomy and comfortable. Scott and Tamara were extremely cordial and ready with info on what to see and do in Pueblo. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe. The Riverwalk and downtown are only a five minute drive. Breakfast topped off the visit. Scott made a killer quiche which was a presented to us on a table covered with a lace tablecloth with goblets and china place settings laid, reflecting the house’s Victorian vibe. I loved the property. Of course, historic houses have idiosyncrasies. I find idiosyncrasies enchanting.

The breakfast was incredible! Tammy, the owner, was delightful, and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. Downen House was lovely, and it was apparent that the family who owns it put much love into it.

The BnB was built in 1889 and is charming. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed in one of three rooms. Very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh cooked and delicious.

The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Nice to have water bottles in the room fridge and snacks downstairs. Our breakfast (that they made for us to take because we left early in the morning), was wonderful!
