Royal Sportsman Hotel

The included breakfast was a delight as there was a cold buffet and then a large and tasty selection of hot items to order. These included both small and large Welsh breakfast, kippers, pancakes and eggs several different ways.

Clean and comfortable. Friendly and attentive staff. Nothing much, this hotel offered simple basic accommodation which was all I needed or expected.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room on the ground floor was clean and well stocked. A very enjoyable stay. No reasons for complaint.

Excellent breakfast - plenty of choices. Didn't use the restaurant in the evening but the menu and prices look good Limited parking on site but nothing the hotel can do about that!

Full Welsh cooked breakfast good, but only one slice of bacon. Service a bit unco-ordinated at times.

It was clean tidy and all the facilities I wanted were available… There were a lot sound transmission from the rooms next door…

Breakfast is great

The breakfast and evening meal were both delicious, excellent service and staff were all helpful and friendly. Our room was tucked away and very quiet, with streaming services on the TV, excellent facilities in the room, there was nothing we needed that it didn't have. Really nice stay, would definitely visit again. We particularly liked the private car park at the back of the hotel where we could park our van and leave the bikes, as the doors were locked in the evening we felt secure and it had easy access to our room so was handy for loading and unloading. There wasn't anything to dislike about the place.

The location is great very central to everything within the area The rooms are very very small, some of the rooms are not actually photographer and showcased on bookings.com The room I thought I was booking looked fine for an over night stay but the photos are not actually of the room that was allocated The double bed is on the small side so be prepared to be sleeping on top of your partner The WiFi completely went down so avoid logging into your Netflix or Disney as you can’t log out The room was very tight not much room at all Bathroom was average and very standard Slow pressure The room smells damp Felt like we had been give the most random room in the place Wouldn’t book again Breakfast was average The decor is very disjoined throughout The receptionist seemed very disinterested in communication once we said we’d booked dinner else where

Very clean and comfortable hotel. A very good location, lovely breakfast, did not have an evening meal there. Hotel was lovely but quiet, Porthmadog was on the quiet side as well,, but it was January.

Everything was good, the breakfast was superb the room was large and comfortable, the bar was fine and hotel location excellent. Nothing really, Porthmadog was quiet.
