Anda Di Hows Hostel

I mean, Pandora? What is there not to love? When she shows you around she makes sure you understand every little thing you need to know to be comfortable what's growing in the garden, everything. I was looking for peace and quiet in a remote town and landed in the middle of a major festival. That came with its own wild cards, but she was ready with earplugs and a laugh. This is not just a hostel but a place where locals will drop by and stay. I spent a lot of my time just hanging out talking to the craftsmen bringing their wares from far and wide to the festival and other local friends of Pandora's. Belize in July without A/C? With good solid fans at every bed and wonderful air flow, it was totally fine because you are literally right on the sea. NOTHING. Even with some festival wild cards the whole town is drunk LOL (this is only one weekend out of the year).

The facilities at Anda Di Hows are great - the problem is the location and easy access by locals who are not staying at the hostel. My first 2 weekends were really good - the staff are great, the facility is clean and the beds are comfortable. The security code had not been changed by my 3rd weekend - Friday only as I am not staying for Sat/Sun as I had planned - last night I felt very uncomfortable when a random person came into the facility without the host - they knew the security combination for the door lock, went to one of the beds and eventually went to sleep - they left early this morning. I have no problem with anyone's ethnic background, religion or politics but I do have a problem in that some locals do stay here - they know the door combination and can pass that info on to others in the community. This venue should change the security code weekly to ensure their guest's safety - although the other 2 weekends were good, I have booked accommodations off of this venue for something a bit more secure. Security - the property next door to Anda Di Hows (only 500 feet from the hostel) doesn't seem to have any guests - the locals use the beach front umbrellas and chairs during the day and at night - the security code for the main door to the Anda Di Hows hostel has not been changed since I came here June 6th. I believe some of the locals know the code to get in so my sense of security in this venue is very low

Location was great and it was right by the beach, but the quiet part of the beach. The showers were hot too! It is a hostel so it can get loud at night depending on the crew. And the owner of the hostel lives in the house right above the dorm and that can also be loud. Just bring headphones.

Pandora was super helpful, beds were super comfy, location was perfect, hostel was very clean One shower in the bathroom didn't work well and some malfunctioning of one sink, however, one of each still worked perfectly

Is literally on the beach, amazing, good internet (I worked from there), they have kayaks that you can use for free and see manatees (I saw 4), very clean and comfortable

The lighting in the kitchen was not ideal for cooking

The staff is very helpful and kind, you gonna feel very welcome ! The place is cleaned daily and very thoroughly. The decoration is very pleasant and colorful. The hostel is on the beach. You literally step out of the door and step on the sand. It's wonderful. It is also near the Placencia Pier and and the center. Everything's nearby. The kitchen has the basics, it has also a filter coffee machine. The wifi was working well most of the times. The one of the two showers was not working properly so we were basically using just one. But I am sure they will fix that. The water of the shower could be a bit warmer in my opinion.

I liked everything about it.

A funky shared dorm with all the facilities you need (and more). It felt a bit more like a house share. The place was really clean and Pandora is there to answer any questions you may have. Would stay again if in Placencia.

Great location and price….good ammt of space and ventilation…nice owner/staff… Not about the property but a guest , european looking that keep bringing his shoes inside the room/hostel from the sandy ground outside… it doesnt feel good when there is so much sand inside brought by this certain guest… there should be a sign that people going to the room should just be barefoot..

Great location at the beach and in the center, Pandora is a lovely host who is very welcoming and helpful (gives good information about how to get there etc), very cozy, spacious and clean dorm, clean bathrooms and kitchen, comfy beds with curtains, lights, sockets and little shelf, nice outdoor chill area, tiny restaurant right next to the hostel serving delicious and cheap food, absolutely loved my stay Everyrhing was great

The location is perfect, the accommodations had kayaks, snorkels and masks that made our stay near the beach even better. The hostel is right along the main “strip” in Placencia, and it took maybe 3-5 minutes to walk anywhere. The sleeping area and kitchen were always very clean, WiFi was fast. Having a personal light/fan for each bed was a plus, and towels are provided free of charge. There were multiple clothes lines outside for drying swim suits/towels off in the sun. As a young woman, I felt very safe staying in this hostel. Pandora is laid back and was able to accommodate any requests we had.

Amazing beach front close knit hostel. The owner pandora is amazing along with the overall vibes. Close to all attractions.
