Hotel Portmeirion & Castell Deudraeth

Stunning location and best way to experience it without all the crowds For the money we paid we expected service to be better. The staff at the bar and restaurant in the hotel could have been more polished. We ordered drinks in the bar and asked for some olives. We were given a plastic tub with olives (straight from supermarket). Not what you expect from a 2 star Rosette restaurant. Also, the waiters looked sloppy with their shirts hanging out and ties not done up well. Food was good though. Presentation at breakfast was more up to standard.

Beautiful views and lovely location. Nice, quiet room. The walking tracks (beach and woodlands) were beautiful, and interesting. Would have liked a view of Portmeirion but the views of the estuary were also nice.

This place is so cool!!! Very unique and the staff are amazing. I’d definitely love to visit again

Stayed in the Village in the Bridge House. Had been on the bucket list for decades. Finally was headed to UK from US, so had to make it the first stop. Just incredible. Better than expected. Would live there if possible! Every aspect was perfect. Room was amazing. Village itself was beyond charming. Restaurants and food was fabulous. Hiking in the woods was wonderful. However the best feature is the service from the employees. 10 stars. A man named John Jones checked us in, and went above and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful room. He deserves 20 stars and a raise. Just impeccable. Also the man, Jack, who helped us to our room was the most delightful and helpful person I've ever met in that position. These 2 persons alone made it a fairytale stay. Now we can't wait to make plans to return. Just wonderful. Nothing. It was exceptional.

Everything about staying in Portmeirion says quality. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food is perfectly cooked and presented. I stayed in Anchor 3 - close to the hotel and pool. I specifically wanted a village suite as I like the spaciousness of a separate living room. Waking up and walking through the village when there are no day trippers means peace, quiet and some wonderful photos. Its been a few years since I was last there, I won't leave it so long next time.

We had an excellent vegan dinner and breakfast. Staff were top notch, friendly. And the grounds were magical, beautiful, well-maintained. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we’re so gratified with even the short time we spent there.

It's a magical place, like something out of a storybook. Pictures do not do it justice. I didn't like that I had to leave. ?

Lovely big room and location was good the room was a bit tatty in places and there was a thick layer of dust on the shelf of the tv cabinet. The grout in the bathroom tiles was grimy and there were a few cobwebs. The bed was too soft for me so I didn't sleep well on the first night but that's personal choice. The breakfast room was too quiet, a bit of back music would've been nice so we didn't feel like we were eavesdropping other peoples conversations. The main breakfast wasn't great. The bacon was tough and the eggs were hard, thought it had been sat under a heat source for a while. The tea wasn't to my taste either. But the yoghurt and granola was delicious. Seperately the breakfast would've been £25 each and it certainly wasn't worth that!

Great location, amazing staff from the pickup person at the car park to the pool cleaner, all clearly love the place Wasn’t informed that the balcony wasn’t in order and locked before or after booking.

The Hotel is nice, however the room was basic i.e. shower old fashioned and outdated in effectiveness. Room was basic, would say over priced on its own.

Cute little resort/village on the north Wales coast. Portmeirion has everything you need. It was a a bit expensive for dinner, we ended up going to Cafe Glas rather than making reservations for a restaurant- but there was plenty to choose from. The room was lovely- felt more like a cottage- a large living room overlooking the central courtyard, a large bedroom and a small side bedroom. Bathroom had a shower and a separate clawfoot tub. Mid-century style interior. Real milk provided in the fridge to make tea and coffee drinkers happy! Even though it was mid April the place seemed very busy- especially at breakfast. Plenty to do although one or two nights seems adequate to do and see it all. Our room was on a busy street, believe it or not! (Above the Pot Jam shop, yellow building in photos.) Service vehicles and valet transport coming up and down often. There is also a cafe right outside the bedroom, across the street. There was a room above us with very creaky floorboards. Luckily the clientele was older and they all retired to their rooms quite early so there wasn’t too much noise. In the busier season it might be more of a problem if you like quiet.

food was all great. staff was amazingly friendly. views were magical. gift shops were great. loved it! public toilets in main hotel need updating....mold and age are getting the better of them. bathroom in our room also had the same problem.

What an amazing property. We were greeted with an amazing staff who were not only accommodating but personable. Really liked Kenneth. He made us feel at home. Being a fan of the show the prisoner, it felt otherworldly to be in this setting. Highly, highly recommended. Our room was not ready, so we were moved up to a two bedroom suite that overlooked the courtyard which made our stay so much more enjoyable. Nothing

Sereneity Nothing

When we were have booked a stay in the hotel, we gave a call to reserve dinner and said we were really hungry asking to book us earliest dinner (after travelling in snowdonia), so they booked us 19.15 in brasserie. When we arrived in the hotel, reception told us they got mix up and at the end of the only available at 20.30. So they never called us back to say about mix up, otherwise we could have eaten on the way to the hotel. And we are with a kid 8 years old. Absolutely non flexible despite a mistake on their side. Really unprofessional attendance and level of employees at reception. Also reception is incredible slow. Ordering a golf car for pick up as well is not efficient, they say it will come in 10 min and no one arrive. We have paid for the expensive room expecting a great service and nice accommodation, while when we booked a big room for 2 adults and 8 year old kid, In our room we only had one bed and for us to figure out what to do, no additional bedding could have been provided.
