Jack London Inn

I checked in and checked out within 30 mins, the bed was made but pulling the sheets back I found stains, the floor/carpet was extremely dirty and sticky like in some spots. I wiped the desk chair down with a lysol wipe and it was disgusting. The walls are thin, the train is loud, and the parking garage is park at your discretion. I would never recommend this place.

There unfortunately, was cockroaches in my room. Would not recommend this place at all.

One of staff are rude the other 1 was accomodating. On the first day the place us in non aircondition where the cockroaches roaming around the room.

The hotel is really bad and service was so bad also was a danger situation I decided to not staying there

This was an inexpensive room with all the usual acouterments. The bed was comfortable, the room was big, and it was quiet after about 10:30, though the Amtrak runs right in front of the botel, in the middle of the street. I couldn’t get the shower to work, so I could not take the shower I had looked forward to on my trip, and I was given an apology only. The hotel is a low budget hotel, and looks like it on the outside and in the lobby, hallways and dining room. Just the bare minimum in terms of amentities and deoorations. The hallways had a strong, unpleasant smell in the evening when I arrived, and was very off-putting. But my room was fine, and in the morning the hallways didn’t smell so bad. Breakfast was cereal, milk, toast, juice and coffee in a very large, bare dining space. I guess this is what to expect in the cheapest room I could find near Berkeley. I did have a good night’s sleep.

The housekeeping maid staff have horrible attitudes and are extremely rude and nasty for no reason. They talk to you in a belittling and disrespectful tone with a little too much bass in their voice as if you put the job application in for them and made them come work here. Like, I don’t understand why they’re acting like the situation is personal when if they don’t like their job they could easily just go online look for another one on their break and put applications in elsewhere. I understand that maybe it’s not fun to have to clean up behind people especially in a hotel whose main clientele is streetwalkers and prostitutes, but I am not part of that demographic and I don’t fit that description. I’m a single mom trying to get my life together and figuring things out with my baby so there’s no reason to be hostile towards me.

Train was insanely loud next to our room, made it very hard to sleep. Carpet was so stinky with what smelled like dog pee we all felt sick. Unfortunately bc it could be a cool spot. Staff was helpful.

Nicely centered in Jack London Square The property was dirty and has mold in the bathroom.

Seems like it would be a good stay but NOT. No toiletries available and No towels which they say is included with the stay. The door to the rooms didn't close all the way and the lock was not latching completely, Seems like a lot of prostitution going on and the rooms don't look like the pictures shown on Hotels.com Website. Checked out after the second night!!

Horrible property. Lots of prostitution and drug activity. The air conditioner is down in almost all units and they have instead said there are fans in the room. Mattress was rock solid hard. Avoid this place.
