Wingate by Wyndham Bronx/Haven Park

The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet I will just make a list- The neighborhood was full of litter. They should clean the area around the hotel. The floor was dirty The safe was not working The shelf in the shower was falling off, so it was not usable The bottles of soaps/conditioners were full but not working. I could not get anything out of the conditioner bottle. The food at the "free" breakfast was inedible, gross. The dining area was filthy and the clean part was closed off.

This is a party hotel. It's not a hotel to go to and relax. The hallways when you go up the elevators to the rooms are dark blue and not welcoming at all. The hallways remind me of a dorm hallway. You can hear other people in their rooms. The location is a terrible place to put a hotel. The room was the size of a closet. It was so bad and unwelcoming I left within 10 minutes of getting into the room and went and booked a room at an actual hotel. I would advise not going here unless you want to hear loud music blasting from the outside into the hotel and don't mind it. This is a terrible representation of Wingate.

The restaurant and the staff were awesome

The breakfast is nothing fancy, but the coffee is good! There is one young lady at the front desk who provides fantastic customer service (she remembered us from previous stay). Appreciate that there is security on premises. Room was clean and decently sized for NYC accommodations. Too bad their neighbors don’t help keep the sidewalk a bit more clean. Appreciate that it’s near a subway line. I can appreciate that they maximize building exposure with Rosa’s Rooftop bar- but when you have a 2:45a wake up it about sent me over the edge- the windows rattled it was so loud… that being said, it didn’t go late into the night. But it is a hotel first! It’s still the best option for the area (6 minute walk to kid’s apartment and the walk to Yankee Stadium was 20 minutes).

Really like the design of the hotel, obviously if you're in New York City you're going to pay premium prices to eat, the restaurant was good.. The fact that they had indoor parking was good. Out-of-state tags in particular we put a target on your car. It was a good location to get back and forth from Randall's Island, we came into town for the track meet. Didn't really like the breakfast, and definitely would not park on the street

Valet parking was a bit expensive but thankfully there was sufficient roadside parking. Venue is well maintained. Rooms are on the smaller side but it feels comfortable, the interior design makes up for it.

It is close to the subway, buses to shop & dining, hospital, corner store that was open 24-hrs, and LaGuardia airport I wish the room had more space. The rooms have no microwaves to heat up leftovers.

Overall this was a clean place to sleep for the night for our trip to see a Yankee's game. The staff at the front was very nice and helpful. We were able to drop off our luggage before the game. The AC was good. Easy to order food for delivery. The breakfast was minimal, grab and go. Sweet cereal, bagels, and and oranges. The bathroom and shower walls are tinted glass but you can see outlines of the person using the facilities. Perfect for people you are close to but awkward for others. The mattress on a platform had no structure or edge. Felt like I was sleeping on a pile of clothes. Overall, the photos in the booking details are not accurate of what is actually available. No room table or chair. You either sit on a small stool or the bed.
