I booked the room in a bit of a hurry and in some rather trying personal circumstances. The rooms have been recently renovated and unfortunately, the smell of the carpet was a little stronger than anticipated. John Hunter Hospital is within a 5 minute drive. There are cafes, a pharmacy and a supermarket within a few blocks of the hotel, so it is very conveniently located. The meals in the hotel downstairs were generous, tasty and well priced. The lights in the female bathroom weren't working at the time - which was fine - but the lad who came upstairs to try and have the problem addressed was talking to someone (presumably management) on speakerphone at 10:30 at night while I was trying to sleep. When I advised him I was trying to sleep, he quietened down, but it was a little annoying that I had to ask him to be quiet.

Bed was very comfortable and having a sink in the room was nice. Bathroom was modern and clean. Room was a bit dark and window sill was dirty. Tried to have a shower and there was no hot water. Hallways are a bit dim and have a musty smell.

Not a lot… proximity to pizza shop I may have missed the fine print but to arrive and find no fridge no tv and no aircon was disappointing, rooms grubby, chairs and blankets stained, bathroom grotty and seemed to be never cleaned, same patch of bandaids in there for 4 days, was very disappointing,

Good atmosphere and facilities No TV or bar fridge (never stayed in pub accommodation without them). Some of the female staff weren’t pleasant.
