Holiday Inn Express Harrisburg SW - Mechanicsburg by IHG

The bathroom walls were not clean in the shower area. One of the pillowcases had blood on it. Otherwise it was a nice room and clean.

As of August 2026, this hotel is currently under renovation. They also had a pipe burst on the first floor, so that is all roped off. Because of this, a lot of the lobby and breakfast area are not that nice. Breakfast area is very cramped. The parking lot is very sketchy with big dumpsters taking up a lot of the spaces. The room wasn't great - terrible bright florescent lighting, tub fixtures/walls were not nice, tub didn't drain so we were standing in several inches of water by the end of our showers.

The first person I dealt with at the front desk was so incompetent but the other staff were very friendly and helpful. I was expecting a continental breakfast but because of the renovations there was only coffee and tea. Only one floor had an ice machine and the two out of the three times I went to get ice at this machine there wasn't any. I was impressed with the comfortable bed and the choice of hard or soft pillows. The rooms were clean and I got clean towels for all three nights that I stayed there.

Good location for where I was staying Whole hotel was humid. Everything was damp even with the ac set on 62. Made the booking on Booking.com months ago. It was supposed to be $530 total for 3 night. I get there at the hotel and the guy says $705. Refused to do anything about it. This is 2 years in a row I’ve had problems at this hotel. Last year there was absolutely no hot water.

Not their fault, but they were going through some serious renovations. Staff did their best and was accommodating. Billing was messed up card wise which I explained very clearly. Will stay there again though.

This hotel was completely gutted out for renovation and the staff was rude and nasty and indifferent about the inconvenience of the renovation. The bulletin posted said the renovations would last until May 2026, but renovation was no where even close to being finished as of the end of June 2026.

WARNING!!! Property under construction As of mid-June ‘26. There are notices posted that work starts at 8 AM (which is BS regardless that it would start before checkout time). However, the hammering began at 7 AM and echoed throughout the entire building, work in the lobby area sounded like it was next door to us on the 4th floor. We were given no warning that there was construction happening ahead of arrival.

I had no idea they were under construction when I booked. Signage in building said construction until May. As of beginning of June it is still under construction. The elevator was disgustingly dirty. Thankfully we were in a room that had already been renovated so it was decent. I likely wouldn’t book again.
