It had a 5-star feel Service at the rooftop was a bit slow. And the WiFi was weak
-
Excellent location, service, and the view from the rooftop pool is amazing. Air conditioning was very helpful in 100 degree temperatures. Nothing.

It’s perfect!

Check in was great. I love places that let you check in early if rooms are available. They were super friendly. The place was first class. The breakfast was superb. I don’t realize it. It I stayed here 2 years ago when it was under a different name. It was great then and even better now. How can you get a better room than one that overlooks the plaza mayor ? I liked it all

Fantastic place to stay,

Part of big enough hotel group to hire exceptional people, yet small enough to deliver a degree of service lost by the typical focus on optimization. Since the hotel was retrofitted into a 500 year-old building it is VERY easy to get disoriented in it; depending on the room you may need to leave a trail of bread-crumbs to find your way back to the reception. In fact, the hotel is shoe-horned into the Plaza Mayor in such a way that it may be difficult to find without a bit of wandering. Nothing that cannot be handled, but not a good place to stay for the spatially-challenged.

The whole team of the hotel was great! Alejandro (who is in charge of concerts and events) was super supportive and helpful! Thanks to everyone for making this vacation easier and enjoyable! The location was perfect! Everything is walkable distance actually, the decorations and facilities of the hotel makes the experience very positive and comfortable. The rooftop pool was small and busy.

Great location, room size and decoration. Great staff

Convenient location for sightseeing, with a great ( but spoiled... see below) view. Good but small fitness and indoor pool, sauna facilities. Welcoming and helpful service. Excellent breakfast. General level of maintenance was poor. Common facilities and room are verging on shabby. The very expensive room overlooking the plaza was small at 25m2. The view and overall impression was spoiled by homeless rough sleeping around the square and in one case urinating in full view. The fact that the main hotel entrance on the square is not used for that purpose is an indication of the problem, unfortunately for the hotel.

We would recommend Pestina Collection Plaza Mayor to family and friends travelling to Madrid!

Location was great in the Plaza Mayor. Our room opened up into the plaza - very romantic as there was typically street performers playing music and the hustle and bustle of the square. The hotel restaurant was good and the staff were friendly. No complaints.

Really fun and glamorous property to stay in. Make sure to enjoy the pool and sauna downstairs - was a great way to recuperate after walking 8miles around Madrid sightseeing! Staff was very kind and professional. I mentioned needing a coffee and they got me one while checking in. The best part was walking right out of the hotel into Plaza Mayor. My mom treated for the room, so we splashed out a bit. Would have been a bit pricey on my own! I also didn’t realize that there was a blackout curtain that was automatic, behind a lightweight curtain. So I woke up a bit early. But that was partially my fault.
