I booked a room with a king-size bed. The room was spacious and comfortable for two people, and everything was clean upon arrival. I was also pleasantly surprised to be able to check in at 1:00 pm, which was greatly appreciated. I stayed here previously when the hotel was still part of the Mercure chain, and I have to say that the standards were noticeably higher back then. There was not a single complimentary bottle of water, no toiletries provided, no kettle or coffee machine in the room, and the minibar fridge was completely empty. The bathroom also lacked an adequate ventilation system, so after two showers it became extremely hot and uncomfortable. For a room costing over €200 per night, I would have expected a much higher level of comfort and service. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the experience I previously had in the same building.

The room has no amenities. It was not possible to switch off the air conditioning at night . The second day it did not work at all it was very warm to sleep. The curtain does not fully take the light out the room

Just one thing: there wasn't enough shelving in the shower to place shampoo, conditioner and other products.

Excellent location. Great for moving around in the city. Away from the crowds but very accessible. Metro and bus stop just around the corner. The breakfast is really nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a really nice stay. The shower drain did not function properly, but we liked the room so we didn’t complain.

Very central location, large and spacious rooms. Friendly and pleasant staff. I would expect a hotel of this caliber to provide a bottle of water in the room at check-in. The breakfast could offer a few more options. The pillows are uncomfortable.

Perfect location for us. We have family in the area and we like Plaza Espana. We could have stayed longer. Rain, but it really wasn't the hotels fault.
