This boutique hotel houses a permanent display of art from Papua New Guinea. Hotel Urban has a small rooftop swimming pool and a terrace open in summer, and a cocktail bar. The hotel has beautiful design, and facilities include a gym. The hotel features a gastronomic restaurant CEBO, with Michelin-starred duet Javier Sanz and Juan Sahuquillo as main chefs. There is also a cocktail-bar on the roof-top terrace "La Terraza del Urban", and a lobby cocktail Glass Bar with barista made cocktails. Rooftop Terrace & Pool are only open in summer. The décor of the hotel and the rooms includes special lighting, natural wood and stone and Oriental art. All rooms are soundproofed and offer free wired internet, a flat-screen TV. All TV in rooms feature ChromeCast offering connectivity to platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Youtube, etc. The Thyssen-Bornemisza Gallery is 656 feet away. Definitely felt like a higher-end hotel, without the extremely high-end prices. We were welcomed by very friendly staff with a glass of Cava, and our bags were brought to our rooms very promptly. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and dramatic, and everything was very clean. The room was comfortable and elegant, and the bathroom, with a double sink, two showers, and a separate toilet room with a bidet, was very nice. Some of the lights in the room were a bit difficult to figure out, and the only waste bin in the bathroom was very small and in the separate toilet room, but other than that, can't think of any complaints.

The staff was wonderful, especially Paula and Carolina who both helped me enormously with my application for an emergency passport since mine was stolen in Bilbao. Occasionally the doorman was unavailable to help me with my things.

The location is very good, walking distance to major sites, restaurants and shops. The staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is excellent! Apart from having a very good selection, there is something specially pleasing about starting your day with white tablecloths and starched napkins. The room was a bit dark, the only window faced an interior courtyard. Absolutely no privacy in the bathroom. Shower and tub have a window facing the room, and even with the screen down, if the lights are on, it’s totally see through

Rooftop bar and staff was friendly and great Water pressure The noise level was not pleasant. Doors needed to be adjusted to slowly shut without slamming. Elevator needs to be quieter. All night you can hear the movements on the rail. The rooftop bar noise above my room was something that I needed to anticipate and not go to bed to early.

My only complaint is whatever air freshener/scent they pump through the whole hotel is a bit too strong. Other than that no complaints.

Location Hotel was dated and room wasn’t as represented online. Furniture at fridge was broken. I checked in using hotel online portal and registered my credit card. My girlfriend arrived early and they made her pay at check in even though they had my credit card and check in online was complete. Small details but this was not a 5-star hotel. Disappointed
