I really liked my stay in Hostal Prim. The location is perfect, you can get to the center by walking and it’s perfect location to wander around the city. Also the staff is very helpful and kind. I’ll be back for sure, highly recommended.

The first bad point: once I entered the room, I was surprised to discover that the AC remote control was not available in the room. I went to the reception, and the receptionist told me that they only had one remote control for all the rooms. I told him that I could not come to the reception every 30 minutes just to ask for the remote — I had never seen anything like this before. He even told me that he knew the best temperature for me (sorry, but you know nothing about me!). At night, you even have to find the receptionist just to turn off the AC. If he is taking a nap, too bad for the customer. I had to wait until 1:30 AM before he finally came to turn it off, and when he finally returned, I had already caught a cold the next day because of this ridiculous AC remote situation. The mattress was only average at best (4/10). The blanket looked like it came from the 1970s, which is unacceptable considering the price is still more than €100 per night. During the first night, there was unbelievably loud noise from the upper floor despite my repeated complaints asking for calm. The reception simply told me, “We can’t do anything.” I only slept for around 30 minutes that night. It honestly felt like horses were racing upstairs for at least 5 hours non-stop. It completely destroyed my nerves in the middle of the night. Another extremely disappointing point: every morning I woke up because of the receptionist loudly talking in the corridors. I could hear and follow every single conversation. Starting from 8 AM, forget about sleeping in. The same issue happened with noisy neighbors talking at 2 or 3 AM — it literally felt as if they were inside our room. Finally, if you are sensitive to light, avoid this hotel completely. There is not even a proper blackout curtain to make the room dark. A €20 investment would have solved the problem. I asked the reception if it was possible to get proper curtains, and he told me they were already there.

Great location. Just a few minutes from public transport stations. Walking distance to center and parks. Lots of restaurants, shops and grocery nearby. Wonderful staff. Mini fridge and microwave were nice to have. We'd stay again. We had to ask the front desk any time we wanted to turn our AC on/off or adjust the temperature; we couldn't control it from the room; they always did so quickly, but we would have preferred to control our own AC.

Staff was nice and helpful; location was close to metro and RER, within easy walking distance to all major museums, groceries, and restaurants; pretty quiet and safe No problems
-

The experience couldn't have been better. The staff of the hotel were very friendly, cooperative and responsive, whatever I have requested. The other thing I found exceptional was cleanliness. The room and all the facilities were clean not on the surface, but thoroughly. Also, the place feels very safe as there was always someone there at the reception. The place is conveniently located a few minutes from the plaza Cibeles, metro station Banco España or Chueca por the train station Recoletos. So it's perfectly convenient wherever you go - to the Prado, speed train or the airport in the early morning hours. Very close there are good places to have breakfast, abundance of restaurants and also a supermarket if necessary. This accommodation was the best I ever had in Madrid.

Nice, small but clean and very helpful personal The location is excellent, many attractions are reachable by foot Its a small place

This is a small family-run hostel. The owners work the reception and, just like the cleaners and a few other staff, were all very kind and accommodating. The location of the property is amazing, in downtown Madrid, within walking distance to many attractions and landmarks, yet on a quiet street.

Buen staff

The room was pretty old and not sound isolated. People started speaking in corridors very early in the morning and were very loud. The bathroom is very old and extremely cold. On checkout, the reception guy didn't speak English.

Great location. Convenient, clean, and comfortable. The cityview rooms seem to have been recently rennovated and have good amenities. Not a lot of fuss and an overall experience that was great value for money.

Good location, clean place, and it had a balcony ? I basically liked everything.

Excellent location, comfy and clean. Great hot water and water pressure. AC was good, they set it at a specific temperature and said to let them know if I needed it changed. But that worked well for me. Bed was comfy. Spacious room. Bathroom was small, shower size was good. I arrived very early morning and the front desk is 24hrs, they let me use the bathroom to freshen up and then stored my luggage. Very nice desk staff. Wifi was good. The shower curtain could have been cleaner. When you enter there are about 6 steps to get up to use the elevator, which was easy for me, but mentioning for others.

Last minute, near train station, someone answered bell for my late arrival. Very small space, small shower, but very clean and everything worked well. Maybe a little noise, but I always bring ear plugs; I slept fine.
