Love this hostel. My favourite in Madrid Armchair needs to be replaced

I did not like that there was no running water during my stay. It was not possible to take a shower or use the toilet. Even to brush my teeth and wash my face I had to buy bottled water. I understand that this was an unexpected issue but unfortunately it was not resolved at any point during my stay. I also understand that the problem had already been ongoing for several hours before I even arrived to check in. Despite this, the lack of water had a significant impact on my overall experience.

Very central clean dorm rooms. Clean bathrooms The staff so helpful, patient and easy going. I spent many days there because its a safe hostel. Want enoigh shower gel sometimes. The common room could be expanded . All that space in the back is a total waste. Could put in 2 more sofas. Micrwave needs to cleaned more. The prices can get very high sometimes. But its madrid !

The place is really nice. The beds are clean and the staff really friendly. The locations is also a super good point, close to 2 subway stations and within walking distance from a lot of main points. I really enjoyed it.

The location is great and the room was spacious. I've been here many times before and this is the first time I get this big room : ) The elevator stop working and it was a real pain reaching the 5th floor using the stairs. Also the other elevator (the old one) doesn't work when someone leaves the wooden doors open, so basically ... no elevator. There is no way to avoid the issue with the old elevator so you should consider replacing it. Another issue is with the terrace and the meeting room areas, that many times have been booked for private events (for non-guests), so guests cannot use them, even though they are advertised on the site. Those are advertised facilities, we pay for them but cannot enjoy them.

The bathroom was nos well cleaned. You have to pay to have your suitcase stored.

The foam bed was hard, the price (I definitely did not get a good price for what is was), they ran out of card keys for one guest in the room coming in late such that he would prop the door open if going to the bathroom, breakfast starts too late if heading to the airport for a mid-morning flight, a few partying people who were really out of sorts past midnight on a weekend with one not staying in that specific room who came into our room to air out, a towel for the shower is an additional cost ... just not a great choice for a middle-aged person and up who might be overnighting in Madrid because of a flight connection the next day

The only issue was that some toilet cubicles did not have a sink inside, so we had to move to another area to wash our hands after using the toilet. This was a bit inconvenient and did not feel very hygienic. Other than that, everything was great.

The location is amazing, I stayed there for a week and was easy to get everywhere, by walk or subway. Rooms were not very spacious but clean and with a nice view. The toilets and showers were outside the bedrooms, I would have liked to know that beforehand.

Good location. Extremely unclean — bathroom was constantly gross, sheets were stained, rooms were dirty. Disgusting.

Everything is bad

Staff was nice, but at points, the front desk attendants were a little sassy, and at points it felt almost unprofessional. Overall, didn't have explicitly poor interactions myself, but was a little surprised with the manner in which they spoke to customers.

We took 6 bed mixed dorm and I can say that my stay here has been relaxing with clean toilets, spacious room and 5 euro breakfast everyday. Near to metro. Nothing to complain about

I didn't like anything in this hostel I had booked two beds , but they refused to give me the beds and canceled the reservation because the room was booked by mistake for a female, while I am male. I arrived at the hotel two hours before check-in. They also refused to refund my money, and I told thim I am disabled and had traveled a long distance. The manager spoked to me rudely and did not provide the necessary assistance for disabled people

The location. I don’t understand how this hostel has this high rating. I stayed in another safe stay in different locations and I have never faced this misery or stress situation before. I stayed at Safestay Madrid, where I was told at check-in that I could choose any bed. However, the only free option was a top bunk with an unusually steep ladder (36 cm between steps) and a very narrow entry gap (34 cm). This setup felt unsafe and not accessible for most people, and I’ve stayed in many hostels where bunk beds were never this difficult or risky to use. After almost three hours of discussion, the only solution offered for the first night was having another guest switch with me, which meant I had to sleep on dirty sheets and a dirty cover. That night, I barely slept because the same guest and another person kept entering and leaving the room repeatedly while laughing, crying, and talking loudly throughout the night. The proper room/bed change that was promised was delayed again the next day until i showed up at 9 pm, they never called or emailed me instead they were very disrespectful and the employee literally said I heard that you talk to my colleague in another very nice way so I need to hear the story from your side first before we see what we decide. I guess the other employee was sad that I took off in the morning to catch my tour instead of waiting at the reception desk for three hours again just like the previous night. I even proposed that they pay for my transportation if they want me to wait for this long so I can catch my tour which he did not even respond to. I was also charged again for clean bed sheets, even though the move was due to the hostel’s own accessibility issue and the two guests that they moved should’ve been moved the night before because we couldn’t sleep all night because of them. On my last night, another guest was drinking, vaping, and playing loud audio in the room, and although I reported it, nothing was done.

Exceptional staff. They really go out of their way to help you out when you need it. Also, the room was very clean and the shower was great.
