Hotel Mediodia

The staff were really lovely and made us feel safe. The room was perfect with great AC. Fab location!

Location, staff, cleanliness all great. A bit pricey due to the events taking place in Madrid that weekend but there were similar prices everywhere so not only this hotel.

The young people working reception were amazing, so helpful, friendly and considerate.

Perfect location, close to El Retiro Park, Museo Del Prado, La Gran Via, La Puerta de Alcala'. The neighborhood is surounded by bars where you can enjoy tapas and pinchos, with your favourite cañs. I asked the fornt desk for a receipt of my expenses (breakfast, etc). he said he would email it to me, but he never did. So, make sure you pay by card, and ask for a printout of your expenses before you leave.

The location was incredible… in the heart of Madrid and across from the Atocha railway station. Nothing. It was lovely.

Perfect location for sightseeing and finding a great restaurant. Close to the Atocha train and bus station. Close to one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to. The rooms are cozy, and I loved the decor. The first night we stayed was on a weekend, and the cost of the room was double what I paid for the second night. The room the first night faced the main road and was noisy.

Location next to the train station is ideal. Nice neighborhood. The room looked like it was recently remodeled. Room could have been a bit bigger. It was cramped, but functional.

It's an older hotel, basic but fine for what we needed. The location is amazing, literally right next to Sofia Reina museum, close to El Retiro park, and easy walk to the Prado museum. Several nice restaurants downstairs including one brunch style restaurant. I loved the balcony and looking over the caffes and museum. Nice trees too! It's a little noisy at night with caffes but I actually love sleeping with the caffe chatter. It gets quiet around midnight when the caffes close. So it wasn't not an issue for us. We'd definitely stay here again! We were very fortunate to have cool weather in June while we were there so it wasn't hot at night. We had the AC set to cool but it did not seem to blow cool air, only a fan. So if you're staying in hot weather, you may want to double check that AC blows cold air. I've learned my lesson with ACs in European hotels in summer!

The hotel was a few minutes walking distance from Madrid's main train station and as we were returning from a trip to Granada on the train, it was easy for us to simply walk to the hotel. It's also located next door to the Reina Sofia modern art museum and its plaza and a number of restaurants and shops. This hotel could be GREAT if the owners ever decided to invest more in it. It's clean and provides what you need, but it's also TIRED. The bedspreads on the beds looked like they were bought in 1989, thin and a bit threadbare. There were no "extras" about the rooms AT ALL. Just the basics. It's comparable to what you might get in a "motel" in the U.S. and that's sad because its location is fantastic and I'm sure it must have a wonderful history. It could probably be very profitable if the owners just put some work and cash into it because its location is fantastic. All that said, however it was what we needed on our last leg home as all we really required were beds to sleep in before flying out the next day. But it COULD be a very special place. I hope the next time we visit Madrid, someone has decided to give this place new life!

The desk staff and bell hop were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I used bag storage services both days to be able to tour the full days and that was a huge plus.

Nothing. The room advertised air conditioning, but it never worked we spent the night sweating through 25°C heat with zero relief. For a city this hot, a functioning AC isn’t a luxury, it’s a basic necessity. The staff offered no fix and no apology. Terrible experience, would not return.

This is a very bare bones stay with no extra amenities, other than luggage storage. There was no iron or bottled water given. The fridge took an extremely long time to get anything cold. The shower is small both width and height wise, so might not be good for bigger people of any variety. The AC blows directly on you while you sleep so I found that to be the worst part and I can’t believe I’m complaining about AC in Spain.
