The location was great! We could walk to all the major sites we wanted to see. The front desk people were very helpful. The breakfast was adequate. Coffee and tea was available 24 hours a day with no charge! I really, really did not like the shower in 2 of the 3 rooms I booked! The shower and the toilet were boxed in separately, with separate doors to each one of them and the sink was in the bedroom section. The light for the shower was light from the bedroom through one wall of the shower that was covered by a pull-down shade from the outside. Did I mention that the walls were solid black? To turn on the shower, you had to stand under the rain shower head and it took a bit of time to get warm water! Needless to say, I was not a happy camper! Maybe the other rooms of the hotel were different, but we had 3 rooms on the top floor, the only rooms on that floor.

Good location Very basic accommodations and bare bones bathroom facilities.

Worst washroom I ever seen.

Great location and very friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. Good breakfast for the price. Henry ,the day time manager, was very good at his job and very pleasant. Good restaurants in the area. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The outside noise thru the night, garbage pick up trucks. This can’t be helped in a big city.

Great location and staff, Henry at the front desk was wonderful. The hotel is minimalist with very inexpensive furnishings. The bed was very comfortable, the room had nice sunlight during the day and was a good size. There is no fixture/furniture to lay out luggage. Not much closet space provided for hanging clothes. There's plenty of room for a small desk but not provided. Not everyone wants to work on their computers in the lobby. The paint could use to be freshened up and there's no art/mirrors on the walls. The environment is kinda cold and barren, not really the kind of room you want to spend time in. It was fine for one night.

Great location. Lovely hotel. Very clean and modern. Good value. The staff is the best. They were so helpful and made us feel at home. It’s a wonderful location to explore the city, easy walk to many sites, lots of restaurants within a few blocks. We appreciated the coffee and breakfast. If I get back to Madrid I’m definitely staying here.

The room is a little too small. So if you have a short stay the room is amazing like no more than 3 days because the location is very good.

Good location . Staff were helpful. Really weird room. The toilet room door didn’t open all the way, the shower had a clear floor to ceiling clear window into the room, and the shower only had disco multicolored lights, not a normal light. No way to turn on the shower and adjust the temp without getting soaked. Lots of noise from the road. For the money I wouldn’t stay there again.

They have good coffee in the lobby and usually some Churros. I had breakfast there a few times, and it was good and generous. The flooring in the room is aged linoleum, but it is clean.. There are no darkening curtains.

Location and staff -Bathrooms is tiny compared to the room. -Bathroom is somehow closed off by a curtain rather than a proper wall, those in the room can easily see you as the curtain is covering a GLASS wall. That’s super weird. Not an actual wall rather a glass wall to close off a bathroom. -Curtains have weird stains -The beds are severely in need of a change as they have no support/hold what’s so ever. -no safe in the rooms

Clean, efficiently and simply appointed, excellent location, quiet and nice staff. The bed and linens were inviting. Wish breakfast was included.

We were in Madrid for a single night on a layover so we wanted a budget friendly hotel downtown. Mayerling is just that. It is not fancy and is somewhat bare bones but it provided a comfortable bed, safe atmosphere and clean bathroom. It gave us everything we needed for the one night. They also provide breakfast for 8 euros but we didn't take advantage of this. Mayerling is on a bus line so it can be loud depending on your room location. Madrid is a bustling city that stays up late. However, if you are looking to use the bus and/or metro, the stops are right outside the door.

Excellent location, friendly personnel, quiet oasis in the middle of a bussing city

The breakfast was quite good, the reception staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Very basic room, nowhere to hang anything, nowhere in the room to secure valuables, a very small basin in the bedroom, a shower with a see-through panel.
