Excellent Hostal in the center of Madrid!

The location was amazing. Very central and close to everything including the Metro Wifi went out or was slow about 50% of the time. This was frustrating to say the least. The hot water ran out the last night before our check-out. Water was freezing. Couldn’t take a shower

The staff were really nice, super helpful and willing to help out. The reception is open only between 10 am and 5 pm. If you have an issue (lost key, unable to get into your room) there is no one to help you out. I had my room cleaned every day, but the soap was not replenished, so I ended buying my own. The towels were changed every day, which is not necessary from my point of view, and one day they took the "dirty" towels away but forgot to leave clean ones. There was no one in the reception to help out.

Great area! Nice sized room with street view window for sun. Great maid service with new towels and cleaning. Dishes for coffee and breakfast in the morning. Small fridge in the room. Could use a little update with painting of the room.

    The bathroom needs improvement

The location. Great housekeeping. The room was redone daily, including towel change. There is a mutual kitchen area where you can find a kettle, kitchenware etc. The best shower/running water. Bathroom amenities were provided. The host was responsive and kind. I solo stayed for 3 nights and have no complaints. I was in the room only for sleep. Yes, there is TV, reading lamp etc but having a tiny window, it wasn't comfortable to spend extra time in the room.

Good location, very easy once I knew the way, but I would not find it on my own, winding roads, narrow street. Safe area, walked around at night, near a Flamenco club. It would have been nice to have the information from the hostal. He did tell me of the changing of the guards at the palace at noon, but when I hurried there , it was not happening on the Christmas holiday week. Some restaurants, and convenience stores-many were Chinese, open on Christmas. There was a shawarma place open too. Every day there were fresh towels and the room was cleaned. The room was very small, but had a desk, fridge, and nice bathroom with a towel heater. The heat /AC was self regulated and there was a window for fresh air. There was a fine TV in the room, reasonable size. The concierge did call me a taxi when I checked out. But the office was across from the hostal and not open when I got there, and no information was given about the hostal facilities. No 24 hr check in. No information there was a living room area with tea kettle and teabags, no water available to drink, except in office which was closed except for business hours. So when I got there at night, I had nothing. No kettle in room, and did not see the livingroom until 2 days later. The concierge did not speak much English.

    Nothing

Tiny little thing that bothered me was that the walls were very thin so we could hear everything the people in the adjacent room were saying, so I must guess that they also heard what we were saying too, so yeah, just badly isolated... But that's the tiniest of details so otherwise perfect!

Super cute room and bathroom. Very good location !! Just close to everything, 3 mins walk from Gran Via. All restaurants, bars, coffee shops are around. WiFi is very poor. (I even had my 5G and didn’t work well )It keeps cutting every minute. Annoying to be honest.

For us it was an emergency booking. How ever we encounter with great assistance throughout the process to book and guidance to enter the room very late at night, very clear instructions were given to us. They had a common room with microwave, tea pot, dishes, sitting arrangements, and a fridge in the room, all these helps lower the cost of your stay since you don't have to be eating out all the time. And it is a 5 minute walk from Gran Via. I can't find an issue with it.

The location is perfect. Many bars around, coffee places and brunch restaurants. The Gran Via street is in walking distance as long as the metro station Callao. The room was clean and easy accessible without reception. They provide with very clear instructions on how to access the room. Checkout was made without the reception too. The beds and the pillows were uncomfortable. 4 nights I spent there, I had no good sleep. I stayed with a friend and she told me that she didn’t get a single good sleep either. Wifi was terrible and kept disconnecting, but the mobile connection didn’t work for some reason as well. And it was either cold or stuffy in the room. Reception was not working on Sunday at all, only on weekdays, so be prepared if you arrive out of their working hours.

It has everything you need for cooking! Nice and clean apartment. My only observation is that the bathroom is kind of small.

  • Engine customer Oct 2025

The room was clean, it was a great location. The hallway light kept turning off all the time, the chlorine smell was very strong and the beds were kinda flimsy.

We checked in on a Friday all was well. Saturday the shower backed up and flooded with gentle use. Went to contact the management and there was no one on the premises from Saturday to 0830 Monday morning. No shower for three calendar days, no contact number anywhere to be found in the common areas or the management door. Clearly the building was not designed for such usage and we got to see it first hand. We regret our booking.

Nothing. Maybe a sink in the eating area to wash used dishes. And a shelf inside the shower. Just to find something.
