You can't beat the location. I had a single room. The first one was on the ground floor at the back, and the rumble of the underground was loud enough to make the windows and doors rattle. I moved to the third floor, which was a much nicer room. However, the stairs are a challenge! The staff was very helpful.

Staff at breakfast hall were very efficient and did a great job. Breakfast selection was excellent. Room was always packed for breakfast. Location close to Paddington station, but on a lovely, quiet, tree lined street. Very dated hotel, weird floor plans, I suppose due to age. Pictures shown are a very modified version of what's there. Reminded me of Fawlty Towers! Lost of staircases, obvious carpentry and hallway fixes that should be done. Single rooms booked were VERY small as were the twin beds; nothing luxurious that's for sure. Still served the purpose and the rooms were very clean.

Location. The staff was horrendous. My check in experience was really bad, I’m a solo female traveler and wasn’t feeling well. I asked the guy at reception if he could help me with luggage (he had given me a room on 3rd flr and no elevator) and he flat out refused and said either I had to leave my luggage there or carry it myself even when I explained to him it wasn’t physically possible for me to do so. It got really ugly and he started yelling at me until I was crying. Finally he called a porter after the torture he put me through. I’ve never in my life had such a traumatizing check in experience.

The location was perfect! We saved a lot of money by walking or by travelling just in the zones 1-2. We had the 5 people room, the one with a bunk bed. The room had old furniture, but it was clean and the mattresses were confortable. The staff cleaned the room every day, changed the towels, so the confort was assured. The lack of an elevator, but this kind of building could never have a lift. So, we trained a bit every day by going up and down the stairs.

Amazing location, friendly staff, tiny but nice room. Everything you need for a short stay.

The staff were very friendly. The location is excellent for the price. A lot of the furnishings have seen better days. The headboard was very scuffed and had some of the stuffing sticking through. It was quite dusty in the room. The choice for breakfast was very limited - I travel a lot and I've never come across a continental breakfast with no pastries. It was very meat heavy.

Convenient location for Paddington Station. I requested a ground floor room to avoid carrying heavy luggage, and this request was granted. Train noise, which I'd expected from other reviews, was not too troublesome.

Perfect location

The balcony was lovely, nice to have air conditioning, spa tub was nice, but we did not see instructions for use. Close to Paddington Station, restaurants and Kensington Park for lovely walks in the morning. The room was very small, difficult for 2 people to move about.

Location, good value

Location was great, and the buffet breakfast better and more substantial than expected. Good to have 24-hour reception. Felt secure. The room (and bed, and bathroom) was really tiny. No swinging of cats possible. And basic. But just to sleep there was fine.

Location was ideal for sightseeing Ground floors were noisy

The location Everything else .. the staff is absolutely not helpful .. the worst hotel I have ever seen in my life .. not clean and really I don't recommend if you care of your health because from hygienic point of view is really bad .. don't recommend it at all !!

The room was spacious, and there was room service each day. I appreciated the refrigerator and having milk provided for tea. Breakfast had a variety of foods which were delicious. Staff were attentive and pleasant. The front desk staff were helpful as was the young man who portered heavy luggage for my friend. I could feel the vibrations of the trains :). The location was otherwise very convenient to both Paddington Station, restaurants and a short walk to Kensington Park.

The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was polite. The location was convenient for our plans. I woke up with multiple itchy bites that later developed into a strong skin reaction. I suspect bedbugs, especially since I’m allergic and have had a similar reaction before. I was the only one affected, which makes me think it was isolated to the bedding in my room.

Room was clean and there is a kettle There was no variety in breakfast. We stayed in no.272 room. We left the room in the morning and closed the door, but when we returned in the evening, we found the door open. We checked to see if our belongings had been stolen. Our belongings had not been stolen, but it was a very disturbing and unsettling situation. When we reported it to the staff, they treated it as if it was not an abnormal situation and did not care about it. They did not even check the cameras and did not provide us with any information.

There is no elevator and no luggage carrying service, so if you have heavy luggage , definitely you'll be in trouble!

This place sucked! The hot water didn't work. The bathroom smells like sewage. The noise levels all night made it hard to sleep
