The Thanet Hotel

The location is excellent I had seen the reviews that it was old and not very well kept. It was way worse: it was hot, and the very heavy window was held open with a chair. When we tried to open it more, it almost fell out, which was really dangerous. The bathroom was tiny and not well-kept, but the worst part was that there was a used bar of soap (old, probably used for many months) and a small, disgusting-looking, half-empty shampoo bottle. The power blew out for an hour, and the heat was stifling with no A/C and only a tiny fan. The floor is rotten under the carpet. Are there no inspections in London hotels?

The location is quite central with tube stations relative near. Too small shower to be useful (55 x 60 cm) with shower curtain that clinged to you. The chair was broken. No hair dryer that it said it should have. No cleaning during the 11 days I stayed there (not even empty rubbish bins in the room). Small table fan instead of AC, which did little to nothing with the warm weather in London when I was there.

The location We didn’t have bed frames. Mattresses were on box springs on the floor. No one explained the multiple doors that lead into our room or where the bathroom was. Bathroom was disgusting to say the least. Questionable stains in bathroom. We ended up moving furniture to ensure no one could get into our room. Overall it was a place to sleep. Wouldn’t have extended our stay.

It was a pretty bad experience. Really unclean and really did not meet any expectations. Was pretty dirty, pretty much no service.

Good location , you can go all famous streets from the hotel by walking. Big room is very comfortable and the staff is very helpfull

The WiFi worked well throughout my stay, and the location is good if you want to be close to London city. The room was not properly cleaned, and in the bathroom the floor was damaged with loose tiles everywhere. The cleaning staff were very loud and slammed doors, and since the walls are thin it became very disturbing. The shower also had very weak water pressure.

The location was good and convenient. Hygiene, cleanliness was horrific. Glasses in the bathrooms had not been cleaned in weeks or months and were full with calk deposit or toothpaste. The windows and mirrors had not been cleaned in weeks at least. There were crumbs and dirt on the floor. The general state of the beds, furniture and rooms was horrible.

The area it is situated in is absolutely amazing. Lovely people, and it's nice and quiet in the evenings, which is great. We loved the little friendly fox who resides there - Benedict. (Only know his name from a student who lived there). Everyone was lovely and friendly at reception, and the room was clean and comfortable.

location was very good Room was large Bathroom was on another floor. No soap in the bathroom. No soap provided at all, only a packet of shampoo. No heat in the room.

It was dirty. The carpet was filthy, covered with hair.

Very basic. Room for 3 people only 2 cups for making a drink. No hot water. More cups. And hot water. And the staff understanding English language.
