The Rookery Hotel
About The Rookery Hotel
Set in central London's fashionable Clerkenwell area, The Rookery offers charming rooms with elegant period furnishings and free WiFi. Only 328 feet from Farringdon Railway Station, the small hotel is also just 5 minutes' walk from Barbican Tube Station. With sumptuous antique furniture and artwork, each individually styled and air-conditioned room offers a flat-screen LCD TV. The luxury private bathrooms boast land&water toiletries and a hairdryer. In the mornings, guests at The Rookery can enjoy breakfast in the elegant conservatory or served to the privacy of the room. Breakfast includes freshly baked croissants. For lunch and evening meals, there is a room service menu as well as a wide range of restaurants and bars in the immediate area. Set within a row of 18th-century houses, The Rookery still retains many original features. Guests can relax in the library or in front of an open fire in the oak-paneled lounge. I didn't get to see the cat! Haha

The old sink with separate hot and cold water faucets

It’s not a very nice area and our room had the bathroom downstairs……just the bathroom.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is excellent.

The decor was beautiful. We loved our room and the rest of the property. It was exactly what I wanted for a trip to London with my daughter. We loved the atmosphere, the beautiful building and antique furniture. It was so clean and well taken care of. The staff was so friendly.

Great, discreet location. Perfect for London Design week and close to excellent restaurants. Not a thing!
-
Very close to the Underground Friendly atmosphere Really needs a shower and a better toilet
-
The room was superbly decorated to give a real sense of period. The common areas were also very beautiful done. Convenient to Farringdon underground station. Last but not least the service from the staff was professional, friendly, efficient but unpretentious.

Very nicely decorated. Lovely hotel. Comfortable bed

A great place to stay. The staff was very professional and polite. The room was very clean and functional. And the location made it easy to see the sites. Being from a very warm climate, we had issues getting the room to a suitable temperature.

Historical Inn with beautiful artwork. Lots of quiet cozy areas to read and relax. The staff is exceptional.

This is a lovely escape from corporate hotels. Fun and surprising decor comfort in every room. Sublime bed linens.

Lovely staff, honesty bar, mostly great breakfasts (bacon sandwiches), brought to room. Complimentary taxi from airport was a major deciding factor. Porridge was quite thin & watery. We loved breakfast in the room but would be good to have small table. Toilet flush was poor & toilet seat askew. No shelf in shower for toiletries. Price of room is too high.

Bed was firm and comfortable. Shower was good. Very good access to public transport. Bed was hot at night, duvet was heavy. Lack of drawers available to really unpack.
-
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Charming room. Comfortable lounge areas. Poor water pressure and water controls in the bathroom. Low lighting made it very difficult to read in the room.

Everything was very nice and very classy. We very much enjoyed the tea service. Our bathroom was downstairs in the suite. My wife was still recovering from a broken ankle so it was a little difficult to get to. The claw foot tub was divine though.

Quiet side street with lots of nearby eateries, some open quite late! Room really was soundproofed. Great bed, full of character. Loved out little entryway and sitting room ( we had the jr. Suite) The honor bars and mini bar were VERY reasonably priced. Breakfast was exceptional and on time every day we ordered it. Housekeeping was AMAZING. Beds daily made, bathroom dried and aired as much as possible. The bathroom was down a small flight of stairs and featured a large bath with fixed showerhead that sprayed everywhere leaving a puddle regardles of how you messed with the shower curtains. Felt really bad for the housecleaning folks who really cleaned it well every single day. Could have been designed better, but water pressure was excellent and no problens with hot water.

Comfortable Bed. Quiet room. Decor and overall unique vibe. Honor Bar in sitting room.

Excellent historical property. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Rooms very quiet even though right on the street. So much like old London. So much better than a big generic hotel. Very easy to get to many attractions. We will stay here again next time we visit London.

Cozy and beautiful, but very impractical rooms, particularly the bathrooms, closets and the location of the electrical plugs, probably to be expected in an old London mansion.
