Baymont by Wyndham Lancaster PA Dutch Country

We took a chance on this 2 star hotel based on the photos available. While the rooms themselves were renovated, the hotel itself really smelled terrible. The carpets are so old and have soaked up years of cigarette smoke and everything else. The staff was generally ok although one was very rude because a customer didn't operate the waffle machine quite right. The breakfast was really, really poor and most of us didn't even bother eating. While the room itself was ok to sleep on a budget, I'd highly recommend paying more for a better accommodation.

The facility was very updated from our visit two (2) years ago. The beds were soft and I was able to fall right to sleep.

One thing is: once we were already settled in. We tried to take a shower and it was too hot. The knobs on the shower were kind of confusing. There were 3, vertically arranged. One directed the shower to up top or handheld, One turned it on and off. And the third one supposedly made it cooler or hotter. It was too hot, but also we had been in the unit for too long to move to another one. If I were alone, I would stay there again. However, with little kids, the shower situation was too hard. There were no units with bathtubs in this building. I have this idea we would go to the pergola with the picnic benches and have a meal there. I saw it in the pictures. There’s also a grill with a propane tank in the pictures. It turns out that this pergola with picnic benches was a little rundown and the propane grill didn’t have a tank attached to it and it looked pretty dirty. I have included a picture. This hotel’s proximity to Dutch Wonderland was its redeeming factor.

The breakfast was very disappointing. The options were basically cereal, yogurt, and waffles, with very little variety. The breakfast area was also extremely small and crowded, making it difficult to sit and enjoy the meal. Overall, the experience was below our expectations, especially considering the price we paid. We would not choose this hotel again.

The staff at the facility were very pleasant. Our room was clean and the breakfast was minimal, but good.

Wasn't awful cheap place to stay. Floors could of been cleaned better. Smells like smoke in hallways. Front desk was very messy could do little things to improve

did not have a tv in our room until the next day .it was in another room for their use. the floors were dirty and sticky. very poor cleaning. first day no toilet paper in bathroom had to ask for some. we are Wyndham owners and was very disappointed.

The location was convenient. Staff was friendly. The beds were somewhat comfortable. Where to begin. Shower is awful. No pressure. Terrible cheap multi-spray unit that is nearly worthless. Bathroom in general was bad. Maintenance was sketchy. The carpets on the halls and stairs (no elevator) looked filthy. But the kicker was the outlets (few as there are) didn’t work. If you turned off a switch near the door only one outlet was functioning in the whole room. Otherwise there were lights on. Terrible for a business trip where we need to charge equipment over night. They have those metal bed frames where the mattress never seems to stay in place. And with the type of air con units you feel like you’re sleeping at the curb because you can hear all the trucks go by like they are in your room. Never going back!

The property was not well maintained. There was no elevated. The hallways and stairs were filthy. An employee was sweeping the rug when what it really needed was to be vacuumed, better yet a new carpet altogether. The room was ok as far as being clean. The inside door was extremely dirty with handprints as if it hasn’t been wiped down in a very long time. There is counter space by the sink to put your bathroom necessities. The other patrons were very loud, banging doors and loud televisions both nights we stayed. Though it said complimentary breakfast, it included the smallest muffins known to man and toast. I didn’t even see water bottles. Considering how dirty everywhere was, I wasn’t going to eat anything there. Needless to say, I would not recommend or stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and tasty.

Place smelled of air freshener, and bleach. I think some people, including the staff, live there permanently. Breakfast was a disappointment. Only carbs. Coffee left much to be desired. Mattress was comfortable. Nice shower. Front desk was responsive and helpful. The only positives.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and modern. The updated made to the property is a nice upgrade.
