Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel

The hotel is in a perfect location on the public beach. We loved spending time on the sandy beach. There are countless things to do in the area. I wish beach chairs and an umbrella would have been included at no charge. We enjoyed the pool area right next to the beach.

Staff wasn’t very friendly, and my room smelled funny.

The hotel could definitely use some TLC. It’s dated, however it was very clean or organized. The rooms are located in an odd position, facing the side of the bay instead of the front. This makes the ocean front feel more like a lagoon or parking area, which is a bit strange. The food and drinks were below average, but the friendly staff made up for it.

The property is right in the center of Kailua-Kona. You are near shopping, dining, and right on the harbor. It's a great spot if you want to be in the middle of everything. The resort itself has shopping, excursions, and other amenities right on site. We weren't able to use the pool because we stayed during a storm, but it looked nice.

Room was clean but our balcony floor was covered in bird poop, even when first arriving. Pool and view was nice. I like that they provided reusable metal water bottles to reduce plastic waste. The wait service around the pool was spotty, once we had a waitress it was great. Getting their attention initially was difficult. Wifi required that you sign up for a benefits program, which I did not appreciate. No breakfast was provided, coffee maker in the room was difficult to use.

I reserved a n oceanfront room and after traveling 6,000 miles we were put in a room with partial view of the ocean. This was very upsetting especially because I paid extra. We met two other people who had the same exact experience and they come annually. It would have been a perfect experience if the room was full oceanfront. We were told “ocean view” is not “oceanfront so I’d call several times to be sure.

Well located. We booked a ocean view and we had no ocean view from room we need to stand on balcony to see ocean. Also we could not use ocean cause the monk came to chill on beach but that is something out of accommodation control.

Complained and they gave me free breakfast second room was not ready till 4:30 pm which meant everybody had to shower in one room and change to go to luau Asked for late checkout because they checked us in late their answer was checkout at 12 instead of 11 Needless to say last time at this resort

Property was clean and the personal were courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay again
