Hyatt House Johannesburg Rosebank

The breakfast was great. I would have loved to have the french toast option everyday vs the one day it was offered. I loved the fresh options of fruit. I loved the juices, I think orange juice should be placed out there every morning. I had to ask for OJ every morning. The staff was great. I don't remember everyone's name, but I do remember Reagile and Maria. They were great, too. The pool was not cleaned out, and wasn't accessible. Even though it is hot during the day, my assumption is that the pool was not accessible because it is considered to be winter time

Location is good. Dining staff were excellent and provided very courteous and hospitable service. Very disappointed that Hyatt can stoop to such low standards. The rooms are extremely small and the sinks are laughable. An average person would not be able to brush their teeth without spilling water with such a small sink. The mirror in the room is hardly 2ft by 1.5 ft - what do you do with a mirror of this size? Everyday we had issues with towels and not having enough drinking water in the room. The front staff tried to help but did not go out of their way to resolve our concerns. On the other hand the dining staff were great and that was the one great aspect of our stay.

Location was central to where I wanted to go. Breakfast was tasty and a variety to choose from. The staff everywhere is exceptional, always smiling, greeting and happy to help in any way. The room was clean, and the comfort of the mattress was great.

My cell phone charter was taken from my room. I called the next day to say I’d left it and I’d come fetch but they said

As a hotel with an excellent location, you should provide a shuttle service between the Gautrain station and the hotel, in both directions. It is quite inconvenient for guests to carry their luggage along the street from the station to the hotel, especially considering that using an Uber for such a short distance can be relatively expensive. Another extremely disappointing aspect is the lack of internet connectivity on the TVs in the rooms, which means guests cannot access streaming services or other online features. Finally, there are no telephones in the rooms to contact the reception or request room service. Guests have to go down to the reception desk every time they need assistance, which is highly inconvenient.

I stayed in this hotel during a roughly 8 day trip to Joburg with a close friend. We had separate rooms, which were fairly spacious with great natural lighting. The fairly large bathroom had a large bathtub and shower with enough space for us two to keep our toiletries. Our suite also came with a well-equipped kitchen and I cooked a few times during the stay with ease. We also regularly ordered room service, as service was pretty fast. The staff at this hotel are incredibly warm and friendly. They were always willing to answer our questions and attend to any needs we had. We regularly chatted with the manager, who checked in throughout our stay, and their hospitality was one of the highlights of our stay. It was convenient having breakfast included in our stay, and they have espresso beverages available to order on site as well. The breakfast food was decent, but not spectacular. I also typically eat plant based, and while there were a good amount of vegetarian options, the vegan options were limited to fruit, bread and breakfast potatoes.

The location felt safe, they have security at the gate. There is good and free parking for guests. The rooms were comfortable. Service at the restaurant was extremely slow, waiting over 45 minutes for food. The breakfast buffet was quite limited with some options running early and not replenished.

South Africans are so kind! Here in this Hotel, they were more than kind! Awesome! It was entirely a great experience!
