Darussaade Istanbul - Special Class

I stayed at this hotel four years ago, and when I decided to visit Istanbul again, I didn’t hesitate to book a room here. The staff, especially Mr. Ismail and Erfan, are very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They are always happy to answer guests’ questions and respond very quickly to messages on WhatsApp. The breakfast is excellent and is served on the rooftop, which offers a beautiful view. The hotel’s location is also excellent, within walking distance of many historical sites and attractions. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Istanbul. Maybe having an Iron in the room would be nice.

I would still recommend this hotel because of its location and overall stay, but I strongly suggest requesting a room on the upper floor if you want a quieter experience. The rooms have wooden floors, so you can clearly hear people walking in the room above. I was very tired during my first two days, so it didn't bother me much. However, I stayed for five nights, and by the third day I was being woken up by the constant creaking from the floor above. It became very disruptive to my sleep. At breakfast, I mentioned this to the reception. Instead of offering a solution, they asked why I hadn't reported it earlier. I explained that, as a guest staying for five nights, I expected the hotel to suggest moving me to a quieter room once they knew about the issue. Instead, I felt as though they were blaming me for not requesting an upper-floor room sooner. The breakfast was also disappointing. On one morning, because there were only a few guests, they didn't prepare any eggs at all. I found this surprising, especially in Türkiye. Another guest told me the hotel had hidden the acrylic display that listed the different types of eggs guests could request. When I asked about it, the staff quickly brought it out and then hid it again afterward. I found this misleading and dishonest. Guests pay for breakfast, so they should receive the full breakfast that is being offered.

Location is super. Hotel is close to all sights in the old city but surroundings are quit. It was nice to rest after noisy old city. Room was good. Breakfast was good but a bit simple.

Location outstanding

Really great location with a lot of restaurants in the area. Very close to the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. The breakfast was above average. We liked staying here.

Very nice experience! Friendly staff, helpful service, gorgeous room, and what's the best is the location - everywhere is so close (appr 5-10 min walk to the Blue Mosque, also near the tram station). 10/10

Loved the location! It was the perfect location for exploring the old city. The front desk guys were very nice, and the coffee shop / restaurant at the front of the hotel was very good. The guys that work there were the best - very kind and funny! After the first day, we chose to eat there instead of the included breakfast at the top. The included breakfast was mostly terrible. The food was not fresh or tasty. I also hated that the upstairs breakfast room had all the windows closed, even though the weather was nice. It was not very inviting. But the worst thing, on our first day, after a very long trip, we entered the breakfast room with a smile and "good morning". The guy running the room frowned at us and said sternly - "you have 9 minutes to finish breakfast!" Really! No smile. No "good morning". Just a reprimand, first thing. Granted, we were running a bit late (it was 9:50), but that was unnecessary and rude, and was not a nice way to start our first morning. We felt very unwelcome. We stayed 4 nights and didn't go back up there. The rooms were super tiny. I could barley squeeze by the furniture to get into bed. And everything felt a bit worn and tired.

Locate was perfect

The location was so nice, quiet but close enough to all of the Sultanahmet activities. The rooftop terrace and breakfast were so good and the staff was the best part of all. That we had to leave after 5 days and continue our trip.

A beautiful restored hotel in the heart of old town Istanbul. The staff were so accommodating and kind. The breakfast was absolutely amazing (we looked forward to it every day!) and the views over the Bosphorus were incredible. We had a Small but clean and cozy room with extremely comfortable beds. The adjoining cafe was also a treat. Makes a perfect jumping off point for Istanbul exploration. Would highly recommend! All was fantastic :)
