Amazing, clean place, good vibe ?

I love staying at The Mango. The vibe is excellent and Phil is a warm and generous host with incredible knowledge of the area. It is great value, very clean and so convenient to the esplanade and all it has to offer. The neighbour was a bit mad. Swearing and wanting to fight us at 10:30pm on a Friday night because we were sitting on the deck talking.

No external locks. This was strange but there weren't any issues. Never actually met the owner and neither had most of the people staying when we were there.
-
Tiny shower room. No shelves, or hooks to put things. No soap holder. Still have no idea where the light switch is for the toilet. No rack or hook in room to hand wet towel. Walls open to neighbor inv room so here all noise from room next door

It was just perfect really as it was quiet The security wasn’t the best

Our room was very noisy with people coming and going

I liked the outside balcony and friendly owner. My bedroom was only a sunroom with glass doors. You could hear everything very loudly through the house. Other guests were very noisy in the middle of the night and cooking dinner very loudly after midnight. I couldn't sleep from this and the traffic. It's also left open and unlocked at night, which felt very unsafe as a female solo traveller.

All good, close to town, beach

The location was great Felt very unsafe. The guy there was really weird and I straight away knew I didn’t want to stay there. Everything was really open and the doors didn’t look they locked. I left after about 10 minutes.

The style of the accommodation was nice. I didn’t sleep because the guys who slept in the room next to me(the manager of the house) was snoring so much and the walls were like paper. Small beds, no towels.
-
Kitchen and living room facilities No soap, didn’t see towels and had no shower as a result, mattress to thin my hips were sore on waking. Bunk bed was uncomfortable no milk for tea and coffee

With a few tweaks this cosy guesthouse could be excellent The main issue is that there are no locks on the doors, even of the private bedrooms. And our bedroom had a door that didn’t lock that opened onto the main road- we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our bags in our room for a day trip. The bedrooms are separated by a divider rather than a wall all the way to the ceiling, so even though we were in a private room, it was difficult to sleep with the noises from the dormitory next door. We were told that we must not come inside after checking out and should go on a ‘long walk’ until our coach arrives. This felt a bit unwelcoming and stingy that we couldn’t come in for a cup of tea or if it starting raining before our coach came.
