My wife and I stayed at this property while visiting our son who was graduating from Northwestern University. The location to the university is fantastic. We also enjoyed how close the hotel is to the lake and the cycling/walking trail next to it. The hotel is also within easy walking distance to many great restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the rocking chairs in front of the hotel which is on a quiet street. The hotel provides a few 3-speed bicycles that are free to borrow but they are in disrepair (the one I borrowed had two broken spokes on the rear wheel). I suspect we were provided with a less than optimal room because we booked through Expedia (our room was across the hall from the service elevator and our view out of the window was the fire escape and a roof top. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Such a great place to stay. I’ve stayed there several times.

Very clean

Charming, new boutique brand we were experiencing for the first time. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. We’ll def seek Graduate properties for future travels.

Great staff. TV was not as easy to use.

An oasis in the middle of my travels. The property was beautiful and full of charm. Food in the restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Thank you!

Unique and classic property. One of the best stays we have enjoyed. Will return again.

It was a fun and convenient stay. We will stay there again when in the area.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Graduate Evanston! The hotel is incredibly charming, with a wonderful old-school collegiate feel and so much more character than a typical hotel. My top-floor lake-view room was beautiful, spacious, spotless, and completely unique. The location is fantastic and an excellent value. What really stood out, though, was the staff—everyone I encountered, from check-in to the valets to housekeeping, was genuinely warm and helpful. I only wish I could have stayed longer! If I’m ever back in Evanston, I will absolutely stay here again—and I’ll be asking for a top-floor lake-view room. Five stars!

The location is wonderful!

Really liked the young man who worked the coffee counter in the mornings. He really made my stay feel special.

The deadbolt on our door would not lock. We checked in at 11:30pm and there was no maintenance person on site who could help. They said they were completely booked and had no other room to which they could move us. They did provide us a credit and moved us to a new room for our second night of the stay.
-
(The only issue was I being unable to turn off the air like i was able to in my other room. I was able to open the window and not freeze:)

The staff was quite helpful in assisting me in finding a new hotel within 30 minutes. Booking.com didn't check to see if they had enough rooms and the hotel was overbooked. Would have been better to stay here instead of the other hotel we got that evening. The hotel was overbooked and we got booted out.

This is my 3rd stay at Graduate Evanston. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and pristine and a perfect location near Northwestern and a few blocks walk from Lake Michigan and many beaches and parks along the Lake.

Excellent stay

The location is in the middle of Evanston and close to Lake Michigan. The beauty of the hotel, a turn of the century building The cost of close to $800/night for a junior suite is outrageous compared to what you get. The rooms are so tiny that even a queen bed fills the entire bedroom, making access difficult. The bathroom is tiny so no place to put stuff like toothpaste, aftershave, etc. There is no coffee machine, only instant coffee and tea bags.. Clearly not in line with what one expects for $800/night rate

Well-appointed rooms, charm, and a sound sleep—what more can you ask for!
-
Fairly sound-proof room and comfortable; staff were friendly. The only negative was that the elevators were tiny and kept breaking down.
