Easy location Chaotic welcome, room smelled stuffy and it was freezing!

Comfortable older hotel in nice condition. Good breakfast. Good location. Very friendly owners and staff.

This is a good place for bicycles. They had indoor storage for our bikes. The rooms are dated, but they were comfortable and quiet and everything worked. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. The hosts were especially helpful and made lunch for us to take on our ride for a reasonable price.

Location very good & convenient for exploring Exmoor & Dunster Show. Fortunate to get one of the 3 parking spaces outside the hotel-having dogs does mean you have extra baggage etc. Our welcome was by a very jolly lady. Unfortunately we were informed on arrival that the Chef was unwell & no meals available that evening however there were many eating places close by. I had been informed on booking that they did not cater for Lactose intolerance-I agreed to bring my own no problems. Breakfast was entirely mis-managed which appeared not to have been forward planned. There were many guests & a printed menu on each table would have speeded up the process, also self-service of cereals etc. (usually the norm)-choice was limited corn flakes/granola. Fresh fruit limited to a few slices of banana or apple. My toast never arr-my friend who opted for poached egg on toast commented that the toast was 'soggy'. Another guest handled the coffee percolator to other guests-otherwise fill-ups would not have likely happened. Most guests were keen to get on with there visiting of the area. I had no information about the fee charged for pets. My breakfast certainly was not value for money.

Standard pub hotel accommodation, decent sized room, staff that tried to be helpful, well located in Dulverton, which has a lot of choices for dining, and there's a Co-op across the street, making it a good stop if you're on a multi-day walking or cycling trip. The wifi was terrible, and the staff, while nice and friendly, was often not around. this is a decent sized pub hotel with a large pub, and when we were coming and going we would be wanting to ask the staff a question or see other people in the lobby wanting to do the same, but there was no one around. It's an older building, so it's expected to be typically a bit musty like most pub hotels, but my friend had a really bad allergy reaction there, and sneezed the whole time. This was about the same price as other places on our trip, but definitely a step down in quality comparatively.

    Superb

Bed was comfortable. It was clean. Nice scrambled eggs. Staff, very odd. On arrival we were met with a very rude, unhelpful, slightly sarcastic individual. He could see we were struggling slightly with the stairs but made no offer to assist. Wood chip everywhere. Very outdated. Toilet roll holder broken. Breakfast was very disappointing. No cereals or fruit. We had to ask for extra tea and coffee and toast. I found green mould on a slice of toast Wednesday morning. Furniture in room was old, outdated and broken. Bedside tables were extremely shabby and certainly not shique. Parking was on street only, in a cul de sac or a council car park. This wasn't made fully clear in the advertised blurb. Outside of the property is very run down and in need of a fresh cost of paint. We had to put up with some sort of compressor somewhere outside day and night. No view. Room 1.

We were made to feel very welcome. The room was clean and pleasant, the location very central. They accommodated for allergens well and I'm quite sure this hotel does the nicest cooked breakfast I've ever had.

Friendly staff . Good atmosphere. Very good location. Noisy toilet system. Parking a bit hit and miss. We were lucky and could park for free just out side the hotel entrance. But making so close very limited. If not available you need to park in a public carpark nearby.
