The Academy Hotel Colorado Springs

Great Hotel but it needs more maintenance and attention to details when it comes to the signs inside the hotel and information posted on the walls.

Great experience, especially for the price! Staff was very nice, and would stay here again. It'a not the most updated property, but definitely has a cool lobby design and a ton of character. The restaurant was closed on the night we stayed but they did serve a decent complimentary breakfast.

The staff was very nice and tried to be helpful. There are many hotels in the area. Would not stay at this one again.

It's a dump. Most of the items in the room did not work. The desk collapsed. The shower was moldy. The toilet seat would not stay up. The TV remote had to be re-programmed each time the TV was turned on. The room was not made up when we requested. The "complimentary" breakfast charged for omelets. No fruit or yogurt for breakfast. Eggs were cold. Coffee had debris floating. Room was very dark. "Window" opened onto the atrium, no natural light. Stay away.

Check in was tedious. Took WAY too long. Restaurant closed - not serving food on a Friday night. Breakfast was a mess, very disorganized. No one at omelette station & when they arrived, they were obviously not happy to be there and weren’t supplied with all ingredients. They were friendly enough, but it’s obviously understaffed & mismanaged. AC was okay. Seems to depend on which wing of the hotel you are staying.

Not sure it was worth extra $20 for early check in. Room had unique smell like from cleaning products. Both husband and I coughed through the night.

Check in process took too long .. Bathroom needs definitely upgrade. Vent in bathroom clogged with dust and debris. Does not feeel like a clean place to stay.

The maid never cleaned the bedroom and bathroom for 3 days, and did not change the towels.

Friendly staff, although the room wasn't ready until after the check-in time. Hotel needs upgrades, definitely showing it's age.

Hotel is a bit dated and our air conditioning was not very cold. Remote on the tv did not work

It was very conveniently located. The room was spacious and beds comfortable The reception staff was not always friendly and willing g to help easily. I happened to ask for some extra shampoo and conditioner and didnt like the way I was actually treated at the reception area

People were super nice, very clean, and good food. Beds were a little lacking mattress comfort wise but it was only one night so it was ok. Everything else made up for it

Whoever rates this place as a 4 star must be blind. It’s an old hotel that needs to be updated and upgraded. Will not be staying here again.
