Very low quality hotel. 1 star

Excellent location, very good breakfast. Three bed room too small, no hooks or other means to hang clothes, very small bathroom with no place to deposit items, not even a simple shelve. Very small swimming pool with very cold water.

Location.

The room I stayed in had a pronounced "old" smell; you could really see the passage of many years since the last renovation on both the walls and the furniture. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Breakfast consisted of many sweet items, but there was a lack of vegetables, cheese, ham, and yellow cheese.

A good choice for a quick overnight stay.

The people in reception were extremely helpful, kind & attentive to our needs. All in all an enjoyable stay.

There is an odd putrid odor coming from the bathroom and the place is generally rundown. They have cleaned it well but the mustiness and odd odor did not go away. Also, instead of giving me a queen bed, they pushed together two twin beds so there was an uncomfortable velcro seam in the middle

Rooms are basic. Might get noisy.

The staff was professional and helpful. We asked to leave the luggage for a few hours after we checked out and it was acommodated without issue. Our accommodations were VERY dated. The shower head was nearly unreachable without the aid of a chair and heavily crusted with calcium and whatever else. That made for an uncomfortable wash-off.

The rooms are very basic , the beds very small in the twin room , the hotel needs a upgrade , my room had a very old table and 1 chair

The location is perfect, in one of the main streets of Colonia. It’s a great option to walk through the entire city. The room was a little old and uncomfortable, but it’s enough for a night stay. The breakfast is limited, but it’s ok for 1 day.

Friendly staff, awesome breakfast, fast service, great location and clean facilities.

Location was excellent. Facilities clean and orderly. Breakfast was very good. Staff was very helpful. Wifi strong. Beds comfortable.

Nothing I didn’t like anything

Little bit disappointed in our night at the royal. Fantastic location, great staff but the room just felt so old, like not the cute old fashioned room but a real old smell, our shower pipe burst so we couldn’t have a shower in the morning and the toilet when flushing when be making the sound of filling up for the next hour. The pool was a bit meh, covered in feathers from the pigeons nesting above Breakfast was ok, I think overall it’s a good place to stay if you are doing activities throughout the day and looking for a place to lay your head for the night. Nothing more than that though.

Great location, next to lots of shops, bars and restaurants; across the road from a little park. The staff were all friendly. And there were loads of sofas in communal areas to sit on - so many that I initially mistook the hotel for a furniture shop. The interior felt a little run down. Nothing major wrong or broken, but had clearly seen better days.

They cancelled my reservation because they would not accept my labrador. They only accept very small pets and only on request, meaning if you book for that same night ( like me ) even only for one night without breakfast - dont expect to be accepted. I was left in the middle of the night to look for another acomodation. The staff are Not understanding or helpful at all.

The location is great and the staff was very friendly. The whole hotel is rather old and worn. It needs to be updated, including the mattresses.
