Howard Johnson Suites by Wyndham San Diego Chula Vista/BayFt

My Customer Service experience was very good. The clerks during check in & out were friendly and professional. The rooms didn't look like the pictures. There is 2 sides to the hotel, the side of the office is the good side, across the street is the bad side. Outside of some of the rooms were paint can's cut in half catching the water falling from the AC units. The room had a slight stench, the couch had many stains on it, under the cushions dirty & had crumbs, the chair from the table was in the middle of the floor, the light in the refrigerator blinked off & on, the curtain in the bedroom didn't close completely, the sink had chips in it & no bars of soap or dispenser, the TV in the living room had been disconnected (which was ok because I wasn't going to sit on the couch), there is a 24 hour carwash next door to the rooms on the office side so you can hear noise from the water and dryer's late into the night and the swimming pool had not been cleaned.

We didn't like the thin 100% Cotton towels. When my husband and I dried off after showeing, we were left with white lint all over our bodies. We'll be taking our own towels if we decide to stay at this Howard Johnson Hotel again as it was for convenience.

Ok for the price

New floors, bed was decent; suite style was nice Bathroom had old floors, dirty door; the tub had 4 dead bugs and hair from a previous person; shower water pressure was very weak; towels were very thin; pool was closed but not presented as closed when I booked

Dead roaches in room, smelled like cigarettes, couch dirty and blankets had fuzz all over them as if not changed from last guest . AC only in living room not in bed room which made it very hot to sleep

The rooms are large. They were clean. It's in a convenient location. The daytime staff was nice. The gates made it harder for Door Dash service. The vending machine for drinks was completely empty. The pool was closed. The bathrooms are tiny.

All around great place to stay

Enjoyed my stay overall not a bad place to stay if you’re in a pinch financially. Only issues I had were the scrapes and damages on the walls. Also looks like the doors aren’t cleaned very often or very well. Not a great area but not the worst. Staff was very helpful and kind.

We seen a couple of roaches and some of the lights didn’t work

Definitely not as advertised. All rooms were non-smoking but the staff smoked 5 feet from our door and our room smelled the whole time from smoke and marijuana. The neighborhood was very sketchy. They had a gate around the property which helped ease our anxiety but the exit gate was chained up so we had to back up the whole distance around the hotel. They also advertised breakfast. They have nothing.

WiFi restarts every Monday, they only clean Sunday and Monday, you have to request for more towels they only give you to for my 5 day stay.

ALL GOOD

Office staff was inviting and pleasant. Allowed us to do late check out. Very understanding. House maids were friendly and communicative. Rooms were spacious. It was not very sanitary, bed sheets had hair on them. Bed and other furniture looked worn down, headboard had rips. Tv in room didn't work. Curtains didn't work couldn't slide them open. No blow dryer and towels were rough and thin. Contacted staff through text message as prompted to, no response.

I pull up to the hotel and I see a scary looking drugie i immediately left

When I checked in the gentleman that helped me was great. He deserves a raise for his service. The house keeping staff was awful. I asked for trash to be taken out and she did not sweep the floor or give towels or a blanket for the extra bed. And the shower has no pressure. Outside of that it was a great stay
