The tap water was dirty and yellowish. The toilet easily get wet and full of water

This is our regular accommodation when in Christchurch, always easy to park, central but mostly we just love the room as they are always clean and modern. Staff are also friendly and accommodating. Nothing. Everything is great.

Amazing location, warm and clean room and the owner was so lovely and friendly.

Very friendly staff, offered milk and extra coffees, and information on getting around the city. Christchurch is a big city to us, this hotel worked for what we wanted to do.

The layout was functional and felt spacious. It was modern and clean. The location was good - we had a car so we didn't need to be in the heart of the city. We knew there could be stairs - so it wasn't unexpected but I had forgotten how hard it is to lug 2 x 20KG bags up stairs! So just be prepared.

Double bedroom was large with mini kitchen. Very clean and staff was nice A little far from downtown but not a bad 35 minute walk

Room was comfortable and had everything we needed, proximity to train station. We were given a little jug of milk for coffee. Comfortable chairs in room. Hot showers. Narrow walkway to access the room

The motel was quiet, clean and comfortable, walking distance to local shops and restaurants, and importantly for us to the Christchurch train station. We caught both the Tranzalpine and Coastal Pacific trains while we were there without any difficulty. The reception and cleaning staff were lovely and very helpful. The kitchenette had everything that we needed, so that we were able to cater for ourselves if we felt like it.

Very good location, walking distance to train station, large shopping mall and restaurants. The hotel was neat, comfortable and tastefully furnished, equipped with everything we needed, including a large kitchenette. The staff members were very helpful and welcoming. It was quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Our stay at the Golden Rule in Christchurch was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a short stopover. We arrived after midnight, and the staff were incredibly accommodating — they arranged for self entry into our room, which made our late arrival completely stress-free. They also kindly allowed us a slightly later checkout, which was very much appreciated. The location was convenient, within easy walking distance of a mall for snacks and breakfast. The price was very reasonable for our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a simple, clean, and well-managed place to stay in Christchurch.

Very clean, nice staff. Parking was tight with few spaces. One washer and one dryer made it tough to do laundry.
