We had a terrible stay at Holiday Inn Express in Chapel Hill! We somehow got stuck in the absolute worst room in the hotel-- Room 201. The main generator for the hotel was literally outside of our room's window and all night we heard this loud humming sound. When we went to our room initially we noticed this and went downstairs to request a different room. We were denied and the lady at the front desk said that was the best "suite" in the hotel. A flat out lie. Avoid ROOM 201 at all costs. We will not be back at this hotel-- there are too many other options in the Chapel Hill - Durham area.

The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful.
-
Great staff at the front desk!! Helpful because we were new to the area and provided everything we asked for!
-
The tv / cable was out of service ( not the hotels fault )

Room was clean & nice. I was told I would be charged $10 for parking at the hotel. Never have I ever had to pay for parking at a hotel in addition to the room. They also said their lot was nearly full and I would have to park at a sister hotel next door. If I have to pay to park there should be enough parking on site. However this should be included in the price of stay.

The 2 ladies at the front desk, I think their names were Katherine and Joyce, were really hospitable and fantastic to us. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed (gave us free parking, welcome drinks, offer me hot tea, got us toothpaste, etc.) They made feel welcomed. The hot breakfast with the novel pancake maker was a plus.

Monique was top notch when we checked in and every time we saw her. The young man that was ALWAYS cleaning was so kind. The breakfast was by far more than what we expected and always good. Definitely highly recommend for the cleanliness, the staff and the price.

The maintenance man is out of this world and super cool, super helpful, super positive super energetic they charge you for the parking, but this hotel has no flaws

Good breakfast

Our room keys stopped working twice during our 2-day stay, and the power sources for technology need repair.

We had a great stay at the holiday inn express this past weekend. It was very clean. The staff was very helpful and super friendly. Would definitely stay again.

I didn't sleep well, but that's on me.

Staff was great! Very personable.
-
Phenomenal stay! Staff was amazing, the elevator stopped working for a few hours, & they did their best to make it all work. Breakfast was great, the room was great, the stay was perfect!

No instructions/menu or channel guide for TV, couldn't really watch anything. Was able to access wi-fi on phone but not i-pad ??? They had agreed to let me check in early,as I arrived on a red-eye flt from the west coast, but "their system was down " and could not. Ended up waiting couple of hours to check-in...

Yes I didn’t like that my bathroom toilet was dirty. Had poop on the toilet seat along with it being dirty and streaks in the toilet. The shower was set up weird too.
-
No pool - but you can use the pool at the hotel next door. Our stay was excellent, and exceeded our expectations. The staff especially should be commended on their friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile. Very happy!

Staff was incredibly friendly and professional. Bed and pillows were so comfortable. Very clean. It’s very close to Starbucks and near UNC chapel hill. Close to the interstate. It felt safe and inviting. If you don’t plan on breakfast or coffee on site the hotel is great. No coffee maker in the room and coffee in the lobby was terrible. Good thing Starbucks is in walking distance. Breakfast was a no for us but they had it available.
