Perfect location, between sea and city centre, about 20 minutes walk. Also the advantage is breakfast in the near cafe, you can choose a coffee and pastries. Very friendly host, self checkout. The room was not ready at check-in (2:00 PM), I had to walk for about 1.5 hours before I could check into the room, but it was possible to leave my luggage.

The B&B del Toscano is close to the University of Catania. Easy self check in and fast and effective communication with the owner. It is very easy to walk around or take a bus to reach the center. The rooms are large, clean and bed comfortable. The external bathroom not extremely convenient. For breakfast you get a coupon to be used in a nearby bar. But you have a kettle and cups in case you want a tea or a coffee. I did not like the fact that a bottle of water was not provided. There is a water dispenser in the corridor which could be used.

I booked a room at this accommodation on 1/8/2024 for 3 nights in total, checkin was easy along with the owner's instructions, easily accessible on the phone without any difficulty. The room was generally clean and functional On the negative side, the room I booked via Booking also included some photos which when I arrived and saw the room in person, had nothing to do with the specific room I booked which led me to understand that the owner probably combined other room photos so that he could attract more visitors. Rather than that, there was a kettle provided in the room which was unacceptably rusty and full of salt and stains, making it unable for use. As for the behavior of the owner, I asked him last night before I left the accommodation to call a taxi for me for the next morning and he told me that I had to call myself to show the number of the user who is calling to the taxi driver so I agreed to give me the number of the taxi so I could arrange my drive in the morning. I ended up waiting all night till the next morning without receiving an answer from him. This changed my whole schedule and I missed my train route which was pre-planned and costed 20€ just because of him. He could have simply answered to clarify that there was a taxi phone board inside the room which I couldn't find on time. The least I can say is that he is irresponsible and indifferent towards his visitors.

I liked the room and the place in general, even though it was a bit far from the center. The bed was comfortable, but creaky. Still, overall a nice stay. There is no one to help you do check-in, so you have to call Giuseppe - thanks a lot for your help! I mean, that's probably the way it works in Italy. Also, I got confused with the room. Mine was letter T, but there were 2 doors with this letter on them, one of which was the shower. My kind advice is to put a bathroom sign on the door, Giuseppe. It's an easy trick to avoid confusion, for people like me who arrive late with their brains half asleep :) In general, I recommend it.

Great location. Lovely staff. Easy check-in. Lovely breakfast around the corner. Quite dark room, felt a bit humid. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly, could see it has been worn off with limescale on glass and around the shower. However, the rest was lovely.

The area is quiet, 10min walk there are lots of bars and the main sightseeing places of Catania are in walking distance. The breakfast is a coupon to the nearby cafe which was tasty. Check-in after midnight was also possible thanks to the helpful Pepe. The airport is a bit far away.

Too much noise every morning from the owners. In four nights they didn't change sheets nor towels not even one day. We had a problem with the air-conditioning one night at midnight and they answered next day at 10.00 in the morning.Last day we asked to book a taxi for us to go the airport and they texted us the phone number and told us to call by ourselves. Definitely a disappointment for the price we paid.
