Location was brilliant. The lady on reception when we checked in was lovely and helpful The man on the night shift was extremely miserable and made us feel like an inconvenience repeatedly. My partner and I are smokers and went out a few times in the evening for a cigarette to be greeted with a miserable man who couldn’t even say hello. As he had to unlock the door for us. We are paying customers and that is his job. We were extremely polite thanked him repeatedly etc and we’re still made to feel like a complete inconvenience to him. Very disappointing

The 170-year-old building is beautiful and full of character, with lots of hidden nooks and crannies to explore and a lovely function room for weddings. The recently renovated restaurant / breakfast room feels quite luxurious. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the harbour. Our room was incredibly quiet despite being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The room and bathroom were spacious, recently renovated and very comfortable, with air conditioning that was an absolute lifesaver during the 35+ degree heatwave. The spa was super disappointing. Located underground in the former bank vaults, it felt small, dark, dingy, cramped and steamy rather than relaxing. Some of the communal areas could do with some attention. The carpets were quite dirty, and the corridors and staircases felt noticeably more tired than the renovated parts of the hotel.

The desk staff were very welcoming and polite location is great The hotel was extremely dirty Our room was never fully cleaned even after requesting They hung our dirty towels up Didn’t empty bins change bedding there was what looked like dog hair all over the carpet was stained the toilet was rank however the entire facility was the same it was really really distracting and made us feel uncomfortable the entire stay not what you expect at this kind of hotel

The quiet room was indeed very quiet Room was smelly as shower plug was extremely offensive and no amount of washing with water would make it go away The back part of the hotel is accessible via a back elevator that had direct access off the street up to the bedroom floor with no security and no keycard for the lift The hotel is an old converted bank and not very comfy\cosy as a stay The street on which the hotel is located is very scruffy lots of rubbish and lot of unsanitary smells from the rubbish and fact that some are using it for relieving themselves during the night (unfortunately we found a lot of downtown Bristol like this). Also the room was very expensive and the hotel would not even throw in the £10 cost to use the swimming pool downstairs asking instead for more money which we refused

Second time visiting and really loved the room I was allocated also the location and spa facilities are fantastic Nothing to dislike about the property

Location can’t be any better and it was good sound isolation being in a be town centre. The personnel was lovely and nothing was a problem. The spa area is unique as it was a bank building in the past. I felt like I am on a set of a movie about bank robbery as we still could see original doors. However someone with walking problems might find steps and small areas challenging. But we loved it! Beautiful place to be!

Great location in historic Corn Street. Very friendly and attentive staff. Clean rooms and a very comfortable bed .

Beautiful hotel, very clean and comfortable room with everything we needed for our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the city centre The air conditioning system in room 354 was quite noisy like something was catching on the fan, and there’s possibly a boiler system or some system above or next to the room that’s also quite noisy which at times wake us up in the night, so this may need to be looked at

Beautiful hotel and spotless room. Mojito on arrival was a lovely touch as was the complimentary gin in the room. Would definitly stay again. They even posted my makeup bag when I left it there by accident! To top it off the bed was the comfiest hotel bed I’ve ever used. Nothing. Will be back!
