The staff were brilliant especially the lone lady at breakfast. Only had breakfast which was excellent Bed was very creaky every time you moved which made it hard sleeping

Loved the room. Great decor, sitting area was great to have along with tea and coffee making. Bathroom was huge, staff were friendly. Fan in room for hot days was a nice touch. Taps were on wrong way... kept getting soaked. I felt silly but kept doing it.

All the staff were pleasant, welcoming and friendly.They were eager to accommodate needs and preferences. The food was plentiful, and delicious with great variety of choice. The Down Inn is a favourite with locals which speaks volumes. The prices were very reasonable. The beds were king-size and very comfortable. We stayed during a heatwave and although there was no air conditioning, every room was supplied with a fan. I would heartily recommend The Down Inn. percent. There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Value for money was exceptional. Lovely quiet area, and very comfortable room. The food was very good quality. The carvery was amazing as was the breakfast the following morning. There was a nice relaxed feel about the whole place. Only small mention is the bathroom was a little tired and could do with a freshen up. Plus, the water pressure of the shower was extreme and difficult to manage adequately. Having said that, my back received a very good massage. But, this is just an observation.
