First the hotel is under renovation a no warning anywhere at the time of booking Bathroom in a plastic bag - opened and os diary / dirty i did not use it Could not open my room window as the window sill was full of bird shit that was thre for a long , long time accumulated !

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Corona d'Oro. While we experienced a few minor issues when we first arrived, what truly sets this hotel apart is how the management handled everything. They went above and beyond to make things right and genuinely cared that we had a memorable experience. From that point on, every member of the staff was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. Their commitment to outstanding hospitality exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and perfectly located in the heart of Bologna, making it easy to explore the city's incredible history, restaurants, and attractions. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming. What could have been an ordinary stay became one we'll always remember because of the exceptional customer service. We left feeling truly valued as guests and couldn't have been more pleased. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Corona d'Oro to anyone visiting Bologna.

I had stayed there before and would always stay there when in Bologna. It did not disappoint. Great lobby and atrium, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and a nice bar (inside and outside areas). Location is just about perfect. Not complaints but notes to travellers. They are currently (July) doing renovations to bits of the hotel and though it didn't disturb me, there may be time when it is a nuisance. The hotel restaurant is good but you can find better places at lower price nearby (and the front desk very helpful with recommendations). If you haven't booked breakfast, it is 27 Euro and you can get a pastry and a coffee at neighbourhood cafes for 5-7.
