The property was nice. There were no onsite food options, or even coffee. There was not desk to work at. This hotel is not for the business traveler. It would be a great place to vacation and relax. It has a kitchen, small stove and fridge so you could fend for yourself. The area is beautiful but the roads leading to it have a lot of switchbacks.

It is what it is. The photos don't lie. Badly in need of new carpets and a complete renovation since its 1980's heyday... But, the kitchen was well stocked, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. The location is ideal for all things in Beech Mountain. Walkable to the slopes.

It is what it is- the photos don’t lie. The room was clean, but badly in need of a carpet replacement and renovation from its 1980’s heyday. The location is super convenient, and the kitchen was well supplied.

This was a great stay for us while going to a concert at Beech! The only downside was the fact that there wasn't any A/C but it is cooler on the mountain. The facility is dated but was really clean.

This is an older hotel and, as such, so were the amenities. That being said, our room was wonderful! Everything worked without any problems. Good water pressure, hot water, and everything we needed for our brief stay. Despite the older hotel, it was very clean and well kept. Amazing place to stay when passing through or as a base camp for hiking the nearby trails

Clean rooms. However it is dated. Restaurant is permanently closed on site.

The curtains were falling off the rod. There wasn’t a waste basket in the bathroom. No tissues, no ac. The room was at least 80 degrees when I got there, closed up, horrible.

One of the most uncomfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. Carpet was filthy.

I guess it just had a bad experience, late check-in was a nightmare? They respond like 1.5 hours later after a bunch of calls, the main problem was the A/C was broken and in summer our room was a steam room. The carpet smelled and was all stained. They just need to upgrade the hotel. Too bad.

Location Stairs to get to the second floor. Downstairs bed missing springs so we all 5 had to share 2 beds, no ac which was not advertised before booking. Manager never called back. This hotel was expensive and didn't meet any of our expectations.

The location was great, close to the main amenities. Upon arrival at 6pm on July 4th, I was told that my room was given to the "wrong people." The gentleman at the front desk was not sure how to book me in another room without speaking with management. After waiting for him to decide what to do, I finally left and said I would return later. After coming back, instead of the original 1st floor room, I received a 3rd floor room. The room was stifling hot. After discovering there was no ac, I took my concerns to the front desk. He said, "did they not tell you? I was told Sarah told everyone at booking." After informing him that I was not aware of this, he instructed me of the location of a box fan. My family was unable to rest and left the hotel around 11:30 to drive home. While a beautiful old building, the rooms are extremely dated and stagnant. I would not stay there again. I did ask for a refund and was denied. I was not offered a discount on a future stay or other incentive to return in exchange for a lack of customer service.

Great location

** Spacious, double floor room with stairs Cons of room 208: ** No AC, but there were two box fans (fans were extremely dirty, three guests have allergies & asthma) ** Shower head in bathroom on the bottom floor needs to be replaced, barely any water came out ** Sofa bed was horrendous and needs to be replaced, springs and mattress were so old that it was like sleeping in a bowl, 1 person decided to sleep on the floor ** Main room door was very difficult to lock from both the inside (turn knob) and outside (old-fashioned key) ** Teenagers in our group said the hotel and room were very creepy, so they slept with the lights on

They are supposed to be renovating by the winter. Hopefully by then this review will be no longer accurate. It is old and very dated no air-conditioning. They do have ceiling fans. The bathroom and kitchen were clean but the carpets the couch we’re old did have a full-size refrigerator if you’re looking for a place to lay down for the evening and take a shower it’ll get you through the night.

The hotel is a dump: dirty, musty smelling and the spiral staircase in the 2 story “suite” was dangerous to use. We ended up using the top half of the room only one night. We advised the night clerk, Judge, a very nice young man, to refund us the balance of the 4 night stay and he agreed to refund us. We left at 6 am the following morning. We tried to find a morning clerk to confirm and there was a sign with an emergency number. No one was there so we could not get a receipt or speak to anyone. We did have good hot water but the TV cable stopped working, there was 1 extension chord to plug in whatever - we used it for the CPAP so we had no table lamp. We slept with all the windows open so we could breathe - the musty smell was so pungent. The bathroom was small and toilet was very low and difficult if you have issues standing, which my husband does. It was hard for him to fit in the bathroom (6’2” 265lbs). The room in Short was uninhabitable. The outside the room stairs were not current code of the rise and run and made them different to traverse. There was supposed to be coffee in the morning in the lobby - nothing. In short: AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!!
