Beautiful location overlooking the river. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. It exceeded our expectations and the host Oliver, who spoke excellent English, was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included freshly baked croissants and french bread and a lovely pot of coffee - it doesn’t get batter than that! Not applicable!

What a fantastic find. Beautiful cottage overlooking the river with terraced garden . Olivier was a fantastic host Fabulous breakfast also included in price! Nothing

Beautiful cottage with everything you could need. Very helpful owner who went out of his way to help.

Spacious, comfortable overnight stop with full kitchen facilities. 2 double bedrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. As previous reviewers have said, the stairs have small treads which makes them a bit steep but perfectly safe with care. There is a good shower room (with working toilet) upstairs and a further toilet downstairs. There is a superb terrace outside overlooking the river Sarthe, unfortunately it was a little too cold to take breakfast there. The good breakfast served by the host, Olivier, was more than enough to set us up for the day. Free parking in the Place des Halles 40 yards away. Highly recommended and very good value. Hardly the host's fault, but there are limited dining out options on a Friday evening, however there is a basic supermarket within easy walking distance.

The room was much better than expected. It was sheer luxury! The owner was very thoughtful and very friendly, he spoke perfect English. The garden and views is wonderful. The continental breakfast was very good and the host brought us milk for our coffee which is unusual in France! We plan on returning for a longer stay. Very fast broadband. Nothing to dislike. I suppose if we had to moan about anything it would be we should had stayed longer than 1 night!

Host and breakfast This was advertised as 1,5 bath but we were told when we got there that the toilet upstairs with the bedroom was not yet functioning which meant going down steep stairs in the middle of the night. As to the stairs they are DANGEROUS! The treads are not level and slope forward as you go down. The nice host needs to take this unit off the market until the toilet and stairs are fixed.

The cottage is lovely, in a beautiful location, spotlessly clean The stairs are very steep so not very safe for younger children. Also, the upstairs bathroom facilities were out of order.

A well equipped and very comfortable cottage with beautiful views over the gardens and the river. This was a perfect stopover place for us driving back from Southern France. We could have stayed longer. The steep staircase was a bit difficult to navigate. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Excellent tranquil location, quiet at night (and in the day time), the FREE parking was a 50M walk away although you could get a car closer to unload if required. Much better for us that trying to park up in a big city and deal with traffic chaos and the stress of finding somewhere safe to leave a pickup truck full of bags and luggage overnight. Beautiful setting, terraced gardens down to the riverside. Our host, Olivier, was very friendly and spoke almost perfect English (which makes up for our embarrassingly poor French), so the whole process was nice and easy. The rooms including a fully fitted kitchen were immaculately clean, and well furnished. Bye the way, Beaumont-sur-Sarthe really is a sleepy old town, so not for anyone wanting to party all night. Hate to say anything negative, but in the interests of honesty, if I'm being super fussy then the double bed perhaps needs looking at as it tended to sag towards the middle, and the staircase tilts back making it a little tricky, especially after a few glasses of wine.... (as already mentioned by previous visitors) - however these were very minor issues that did not affect our experience in a negative way.

The views and the amenities. Shower was amazing. Breakfast was first class. Tastefully decorated and warm and cosy. Stairs to the bedroom floor were very steep which might be an issue for some guests. There was a fete on the day after we arrived which meant the closest car park had been commandeered for the weekend. Meant we had to park a bit further away than we would have liked.

The location, the outside space, the decor and the breakfast The steep staircase to the bedroom and the bathroom on the ground floor but neither was a big problem

It was in a delightful village overlooking the River Sarthe. The view from the garden was stunning and we loved the light and airy feel to the cottage. The owner was friendly and very helpful, and provided an excellent continental breakfast. We would definitely recommend a stay here. .

Our second stay at the cottage and will definitely come again. Very clean and well-equipped, warm and cosy. Bed is incredibly comfortable. Lovely hot and powerful shower. Everything that is important in an overnight stay. Nothing - just wish the weather had been a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the lovely outdoor area!

Perfect stop over for us from the Dordogne to Calais. The cottage has everything you need for a longer stay too.
