Athens Gate Hotel

View was incredible, rooms were spacious, AC worked great, breakfast and dinner were delicious, staff was so incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Highly highly recommend. Super close to the acropolis and right across from temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian arch. Location was phenomenal. Absolutely nothing!

Had a large terrace which was nice but the view was of the temple of Zeus which is completely covered in scaffolding so its really just a view of dead grass from the high summer heat. would have preferred a view of the acropolis. Rooms a little small for the price.

Amazing location! Comfortable clean rooms. Helpful staff. Amazing view from rooftop restaurant where they served a delicious breakfast buffet. Highly recommend.

My stay at the Athens Gate Hotel was outstanding, and what truly made the experience special was the exceptional customer service. Although there was an issue with my room on the first night, the hotel staff responded quickly, professionally, and with genuine care. They listened to my concerns and corrected the situation, making sure the rest of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location is simply unbeatable. Being just steps away from the Temple of Olympian Zeus and within easy walking distance of the Acropolis, Plaka, and so many of Athens’ historic attractions made exploring the city effortless. I truly believe it is one of the best locations in Athens. I would like to extend a special thank you to the entire hotel team for turning an initial inconvenience into a memorable experience through their kindness and commitment to guest satisfaction. Your professionalism did not go unnoticed, and it made all the difference. I would happily stay at the Athens Gate Hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens. N/A

The view and breakfast were amazing! The rooms and bathroom didn’t smell the greatest. The bathroom had a urine smell.

Great location, walking distance to main attractions A bit run down. Very noisy as our room faced the main road, who has 24/7 high traffic volume, and windows are not noise cancelling. So don’t go there if you have a light sleep

The restaurant had beautiful views and excellent food. The waitstaff was friendly , but the service was extremely slow. Took very long time to get our drinks , checks ect

The location and the view were excellent. We enjoyed the rooftop cafe but found the birds periodically were able to scavenge food. Staff were very nice. Keep birds away from breakfast area.

Everything was excellent! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The location is unbeatable—you can easily walk to all of Athens’ main attractions. The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of the Acropolis, making breakfast and evenings truly special. Breakfast was included and had a great variety of fresh, delicious options. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Nothing at all. Everything exceeded our expectations.

Very good breakfast. Among the best dinners in Athens. Friendly staff. Used room service for dinner once as the restaurant was booked. Some facilities are showing their age.

This property was in a pretty convenient location for accessing things like the Acropolis and related sights, as well as local restaurants and shops around that area. The rooms and facilities were clean, and comfortable. We did not have a chance to enjoy the in-hotel included breakfast, however the hotel does offer a to-go variation of their breakfast, which was convenient for us as we were up early to get in line for the Acropolis. It was a surprisingly well stocked bag for 2 people. The one downside to this property was the noise. It is located right on a very busy road, with lots of traffic noise and horn honking. The traffic does die down slightly as night, but it could still be heard throughout the night, which resulted in a sleep that was not as restful as we would have hoped for, especially after the long flight to Athens.
