The hotel had a nice play area for kids, the breakfast was much better than the average French breakfast (as it had bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausages), the location was good enough in terms of being near the city center, and parking was close (under the hotel) for 12 euros a day. You're almost always going to pay when you park in a city... it's just a question of how much. Staff were friendly and helpful. Most of all - there were rooms that could accommodate a family of 4 - even if cramped - which is not a given in Europe. Not sure how it could be fixed - but the rooms were a bit cramped when the second bed was open. Basically, just room for one open suitcase - two was a real tetris game....

Comfortable beds. Clean room, good bathroom I selected this hotel as it was advertised as having onsite parking. When we arrived we were advised there was no onsite parking. We could either use an outdoor car park which would be free if we left before 9.00am the following morning, or an underground car park nearby. We chose the underground option, but confused by the information given, as the underground car park was linked to the Holiday Inn Express by a lift which took us to reception. We needed to get our car Park ticket validated the next morning, with a charge of 12€. I paid by cash. When we presented the ticket at the barrier, there was a message stating we still owed 12€. I returned to the hotel reception to explain the ticket validation hadn't worked. The girl on reception apologised and appeared to re-program the ticket. I presented the ticket a second time, but it appeared the second attempt at validation hadn't worked. We were in a hurry, so I paid the fee by card. I have therefore paid 24€ for a 12€ charge. The girl on reception at 6.30am on Saturday 22 August was called LEA. She could see we were in a hurry, and I wonder if she took advantage of that fact. I hope not.

Hotel and facilities were spotless and tastefully decorated. Very friendly welcome. Parking was convenient, 12 euro's per night but underground and connected to the hotel, paid on departure. Loved the breakfast, lots of choice and complimentary.
