Lots of great local bars. Hotel a little dated but not unpleasantly. Rooms airy with old fashioned shutters and facilities v clean, staff polite and helpful. Good breakfast and parking make this an easy place to stay.

The spacious room was quiet and comfortable, with a fan provided - much appreciated during the heatwave! I liked the décor too; very much in keeping with the history of the building. The location was ideal, just a short walk from a lovely square with a good selection of restaurants and bars (the hotel restaurant was closed for the annual staff holiday). The buffet breakfast was excellent, and I found all the staff friendly and helpful. I would have liked drink facilities in the room. There was free coffee available downstairs for guests, but no kettle or coffee maker in the room itself.

Comfortable bed, large room No A/C, very hot. Initial reception staff not very helpful in telling us how to find our room which was very complicated to get to.

Location perfect. Charming old hotel. Friendly receptionist The lies in the description. "Separate Bedroom". This is a lie. The bedroom is not separate to the living area, which is just some chairs in the bedroom. This was important to us. Apparently NONE of the hotel's rooms have separate living room to bedroom, making this a deliberate lie. "Courtyard view." The view was of a brick wall immediately outside the bedroom window, not a courtyard. Making this a lie. Very upsetting after paying extra for a superior room with a courtyard view.

Good location Quality of the room needs improvement. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom bath waste plug couldn't be lifted so had to leave waste water in the bath. Breakfast was very poor, no bacon, coffee machine faulty, overall not good value for money.

Location Very noisy . Neighbours loud TV and barking dog. Other guests having a good time late at night. The sound seemed to carry in an unusual way.
