Excellent value for money. This was a fantastic hotel and if I’m ever back I’ll see if I can book this one again. The staff member I spoke to was great and helped with my check in. The room was clean and beautiful with the mirror that had lighting around the borders, the balcony view, a sink beside the bed (which meant I didn’t need to get up to wash my hands), and just overall great vibes. As this hotel was a 30 minute walk from the city centre it was quieter than other hotels which was welcomed. The balcony door did block out a lot of noise too which helped. The shower, TV and everything else worked great. Pricing for Amsterdam was more than reasonable and room was very spacious. Overall a great stay, thank you. Unfortunately I had a technical issue with the digital check-in. The button to access my room keys didn’t work, and after 3pm reception was no longer available. I couldn’t get the keys from my email or from the Booking.com messages. I tried calling the hotel, but no one was available as the owners were out of the country, so I had to book somewhere else for the night. The next day it was sorted and wasn’t too big of a deal. Housekeeping did a great job and were hospitable. I also think the “Do Not Disturb” signs are a great addition but should be looked at and respected as well as if the door is locked. This would save a lot of embarrassing walk-ins and might make their life easier. I’m autistic so maybe I am just complaining about nothing but since they came at different times daily including when I was just getting up so didn’t reply it was awkward and avoidable.

The back courtyard is gorgeous! Its surrounded by a beautiful garden of shrubs and trees. It was nice to bring our own cocktail and enjoy the evening outside. If the weather is bad they have a covered outdoor area, as well as an inside comfy sofa. Once we figured out the subway it was an easy 5-7 min walk to the hotel.

Absolutely delightful hotel! The room was nicely decorated and had a great canal view. The location gives convenient access to multiple tram lines, so that you can reach many areas of the city in minutes. The hotel provides very good coffee and teas, and has a very pleasant common lounge area and garden.

the decoration of the room, well located, quiet area and surrounded by nice coffees, the lift is a bonus especially in a city like Amsterdam where traveling with a big luggage can be difficult due to the stairs. In my opinion, the room was very small for two persons, it works fine for one person. The door of the bathroom was not working well, it was hard to close it completely.

This property was aware weeks ago that I am in my hometown in Bahrain amidst a war with no open airspace and emergency mode, they repeatedly ignore emails, messages from booking, and whatsapps just to avoid my request for a refund. Instead of having an ounce of sympathy and respect, they FULLY ignored me. They could have responded with a rejection, but chose just to ignore for weeks. While we are here in the war zone trying to be scarce with our resources, they couldnt even be bothered to reply. At some point i got ONE response days after nagging: “It has nothing to do with respect” absolutely. Peoples countries being bombed and being forced to be on lockdown and closed airspaces and fear of losing electricity has nothing to do with respect- it’s inconvenient for your policy to practice force majeur.

Overall, a great experience staying at LIF Boutique. Staff were personable, explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable. Free coffee was nice. Room was small but met my expectations; bed comfortable. Location is in a quieter area but walking distance to surrounding attractions.
