The staff was friendly and helpful, and I found the property to be clean and tidy. The wifi was spotty at best, would not suggest if you NEED wifi.
-
the location is exceptional, well connected. only 1 toilet and shower per floor. very steep stairs.
-
Quiet area away from larger tourist areas but still easy walking distance. Nice location near art museums. Very warm in the room - the room faced south and was on the top floor so June heat wave temperatures made it very warm. I would suggest a small fan to move the air. Note the staircase is narrow and steep and the shared toilet room is quite small. Okay for me but maybe uncomfortable for others that are not used to a traditional Dutch house.

The location was stunning, right in the heart of the tourist area in Amsterdam. The staff was also very friendly. The room was a bit tight, and the stairs were quite steep, but that's understandable to maximise the use of the space, given the area you're in. Anyway, the price is worth it.

The location was perfect. It's centrally located, with plenty of public transportation within a reasonable walking distance. Our top-floor room overlooked the city. The street noise was minimal. We really appreciated the heavy curtains blocking the early morning sun. I liked that I could have a cup of tea in the early evening.

Steep steps, small room

The staff were extremely attentive and the room and location were top notch. The building was beautiful and maintained well, we loved everything about our stay.

Wonderful classic building. Excellent location. Great atmosphere. There's a lot of narrow stairs to climb, but that's Amsterdam.

It felt like we stayed with a family. The hotel is cozy with well-preserved authentic atmosphere, tastefully decorated, with all the modern details you need to be comfortable. Spacious bathroom, good beds, beautiful breakfast and sitting room… The breakfast was wonderful: fresh berries, yogurt, juice, sausage and cheese, a choice of breads for toasts, fruits, coffee and tea. A special thank you to the staff, warm and accommodating, who made our stay even more special! The location of this hotel is also exceptional. Right on the bus lane to the airport or a Central Station, with a view of Rijksmuseum, canal boat cruises - everything is within minutes walk. We will be back! We loved the stairs!

receptionist with blond hair very frendly and helpfull ! stairs
-
Location to the Rembrandt museum and the van Gogh museum, and its proximity to city centers. The kitchen area looks like a small museum and has intereting drawings and paintings. Besides, they offer coffee, tea, cake and cookies. Feels like home! The bath and toliet -very minimum and shared - but one could manage - considering it is so close to the the city attractions
-
Stairs are intense and there was no AC or fan so we had to keep the window open at night which sometimes kept us awake.
-
The stairs. That stairs really is something .almost 45 degrees straight up and with a little twist on the top. It is very hard for seniors (older people) with sizable luggage
-
Nice ole school Dutch hotel with brown cafe vibes. The stairs are not for the faint of heart especially if you have a large suitcase! If your familiar with Amsterdam the stairs are quite common and normal. The heat in my room was a little extreme. But it's winter and I prefer a warm room versus a cold one.

We really liked the location of the hotel. Staff is very nice and courteous especially Olgaa! She is so loving and made sure our stay should be comfortable.

Staff is friendly and nice. The location is great, walking distance from major museums and close to the important tram stops. The area feels safe and not too crowded. The stairs are steep but they’re really not that horrid. Rooms could be a bit cleaner but really it’s a great vintage looking place with a lot of character and style.

Friendly staff. Kuhn and Frankie are the best... Plenty of steep stairs to climb... But the room and staff made up for it
