Candlewood Suites Buffalo - Amherst by IHG

ALL of the staff was fabulous, above and beyond in every way. I appreciated the cooktop. My children have allergies, and we can not eat out every meal. Carpet could have been vacuumed better. Otherwise great.

Rooms were super dirty and dingy. Crumbs and hair all over one of the beds. Carpets were gross. We decided not to stay after spending 3 mins in the room. Front desk staff was nice.

My one quibble is the shower in our accessible suite. It was missing a piece to attach it to the wall and " on order." With me there to assist my mom, we made it work, but if a person was alone, it could quite a trial. I encourage you to keep such supplies on hand. Much gratitude to the Staff at Amherst Candlewood Suites for their help and understanding.

Centrally located, and the kitchenette was a nice little addition which added a homey feel to our stay! A full sized fridge and a dishwasher!!!!!

Nice. I would definitely stay again

The hotel is newly renovated. Beautiful rooms and everything is so clean. Very quiet for sleeping. And beds were super comfy. Staff was super friendly and check in and check out was so easy. The room has a kitchenette which came in handy. Rooms are so spacious.

Room was big and it was quiet. Nothing

Was in town for a charity bike ride and the hotel overbooked. I was supposed to have a room with two beds since I was meeting a friend. They placed us in a one bed room with a roll out bed, which was very uncomfortable.

The bad: What in the cost cutting nonsense is up with the air conditioning units?? We walked into our room and it was hot. Go to bump the thermostat down but it's already at it's lowest - 65°. We thought the unit must be broken so we went down to request a different room. The girl at the desk was very nice, but let us know that all of the rooms are that way. Apparently their units are designed to "sense" when someone is in the room and turn themselves off when it's empty. But that means that every time you leave it gets hot. And if you sleep through the night, it gets hot. And the units do not cool well enough or fast enough to recover from that. Needless to say, we did not use the blankets. Also, beds were very firm. We were happy to only be spending 2 nights here.

The 1 bedroom suites do not have a/c in the bedroom. They use a passthrough with a very weak fan from the living room's a/c unit to the bedroom. it doesn't work. the bedroom was a sauna the entire stay. they need to be honest about it online. their ice machine was down, and was told I could go to the neighboring, competing hotel for ice.
